Hi everybody. This is my first post here and hopefully the first of many.
I just started learning to be a trader several days ago. I found a list on the cme website of price limits...It won't let me post links because my post count is below 5.
cmegroup.com/trading/equity-index/price-limit-guide.html

Now, I know there's the 3 levels, the 7%, 13% and the 20% (Where trade ceases for the remainder of day). But I'm told that the percentage varies with each product.
I need the values for the DAX, MiniDAX, Euro Stoxx (Eurex). Also AEX 25, FTSE, Russell 2000 and a load of others! If someone could point me in the right direction for one of them I can figure the rest out myself. I was looking for a "limit down" on the product specs pages but I can't find values, maybe I'm blind but my head is fried looking can somebody help me out? Thanks.

Hi @SauceKing2016

Why are you searching for circuit breakers? Those are applied so rarely on CME.

Even longtime traders are not looking at them.

Trading (and daytrading) are >99% of the time within those limits in Europe.

If you are looking for MARGINs (knowing how much money you need to trade the
first and then the following cars) then you need to check YOUR broker's margin
page.

Hope this helps.

I know what a margin is, I've started training remotely full-time with a trading company.
I know they are very rarely hit however I have been assigned to find them for each exchange. It's part of a training program so I have to fill out a spreadsheet. So you don't know?

Great!
So you need the circuit breaker only for futures on CME?

GFIs1

I need them for Dax, Mini Dax, Eurostoxx, AEX 25, FTSE, DOW 30, Mini S&P, Mini Nasdaq, Russell 2000, SMI, CAC 40, Bovespa, SXF Montreal and IBEX 35

I don't expect you to do it for me at all, just if you could point me in the right direction or link me to one of them...I just can't see any values of note in the product specs so far that I've looked at. Thanks!

Nobody experienced out there to help? Surely somebody knows...I thought this was an advanced trading site. Maybe I'm in the wrong place?

Google is your friend. The query "cme circuit breaker" yields a bunch of responses.

Try this one: Price Limit Guide

I am sure that you can get any others you need to know by using more Google queries. For example, you probably should check the NYSE circuit breakers, and the others on your list.

The reason nobody answered you probably was that no one really has to care about them very often, since they come into play only every few years as a rule, at least for stock index related futures. Up and down "limit days" on physical commodities may be different.

Google is a better way to find out anything that is basically just a factual matter than any question on a trading site would be, because you will be referred to an official source.

Bob.

@bobwest is in fact no a human being, it's a robot sending random answers to random questions.

That's correct, we're all centenarians living in the same retirement home, having fun clicking with what they call a "mouse" and typing random text.

Obviously not a good place for an advanced trader like you!
