most people would use 9:30 EST aka the 'cash market bell' as cash open. IB can be defined lots of ways, but for most people, the first 45 or 60 minutes following the open is the IB. I personally use 45 but im a rebel.
If it is IB via API you only get the "correct" point by chance since your stream doesn't have native time stamps.
So (e.g.) NT will only get correct (e.g.) minute data via reload / backfill afterwards.
That means: If you need exact starting/ending points in time you will not be able to avoid using a data stream
with native time stamps (see: NinjaTrader Version 7 , section "Understanding the data provided by your connectivity provider").
