"New" button does not go to last read post

In User CP > New Subscription section. Clicking the "New" button does not take me to the last read post. It does work for some of the subscribed threads, but it does not work in others. Instead of going to the last read post, it takes me to the top of the last read page. Does anyone know how to correct this? I am using Microsoft Explorer 9.
