Could somebody send me their chart of ES future for today(friday) showing the hours around 4 am est ? Preferably someone with a data provider other than CQG. Just want to check out things as my stop was hit exactly on that tail
Mine looked like this on 3 minute chart:
EDIT: chart has gmt +1 time, so stop is hit at 4am est
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
And again my SL is hit at very top of swing. Must be either unlucky today or wrong for using hard stop loss orders - even though this is far outside of RTH. Though one could argue that the lower volume at this time makes manipulation easier...
More than 100 contracts were traded @85.25, so nothing special.
If the stop @85.25 was used for more than a scalp (then it could be ok), it looks like a typical "pure" RM/MM stop.
Why? It was set completely regardless of market conditions: @85.25 is inside the last superior RTH swing (89-77) and inside of yesterday's ETH value area,
i.e. 70%+ of yesterday's prices were in that region. Setting stops that way you can close positions in advance most of the time and will be better off.
P.S.: If you consider 89-77 as a PA inside, your superior swing is 2073-89 which would make the stop @85.25 even worse.
