Good morning all. No takers for my question here yet:

Perhaps because I've been too quick to switch to NT 7.
So let me try asking this... are most of you still using an ADX based entry filter not included in what I thought was the latest criteria here:

Thank you

I do not understand your question. The ADX is part of the DMplus indicator, which is part of the criteria.

Thank you, I suspected something like that. There's no reference to DMPlus on the 'New' method posting on page 8 ( )

Are the DMPlus rules used still the same as the in the first post of the thread?

Thanks

If you look at the above post on page 8, you will see 2 charts. You can see the DMplus on these charts as the bottom indicator.

Are the additional rules to only enter when ADX is between DI+ and DI-, and to exit when ADX rises above both and pulls back? Thank you.

Please understand, that the indicators are only there to Confirm the Price action, and not the opposite. You first find the correct entry with price action, and then you look at your indicators, ForceIndex and DMplus as confirmation. I have written so much in this thread explaining evertything in detail. Please look at messages # 20, 70. 78 and many others.
I have also given templates to show the DM as a bar - green and yellow - green for entry, as well as looking at the DM+ and ADX. I have explained so much on how these indicators work. Please go through this thread carefully and you will have all the answers. You do not enter on the ADX, this is used to tell if your have chop or if your are coming to the end of the a trend. You must also try and understand what these indicators are telling you, and this I have also tried to explain in this thread.

Perry, believe me, I've thoroughly read the whole thread, and I much appreciate it. Some of my confusion came from thinking post 71 superceded all before it. Your post 20 ( ) taught me a whole new way of looking at ADX. My 'guess' on the ADX rules was based on it. For now I'll code those assumptions and test my strategy. As much as I would love to be a discretionary trader, work interferes; so I have to reduce it to rules I can program and let my programming trade for me.

Quoting
5. ENTER the trade 1 tick/pip above the Highest High of the 5 bars.

Perry, whats the reasoning behind this?
ie: I assume if you can get a better fill price - take it?
