1) Does NinjaTrader Brokerage offer the selling of stocks?
2) What is generally regarded as the #1 Newsfeed? The fastest newsfeed?
3) What is regarded as the #1 Datafeed? The fastest data feed?
4) What is regarded as the #1 Broker for Day Trading? Swing Trading? High Frequency Trading? Penny Stocks?
Thanks. I did not to bog down a forum and start an emotional religious type war so I am glad I can place it here.

1) Brokerage no, platform yes.

2) Check vendor review section, some varying opinions. IQFeed has good options if you are looking for platform alerts. If you want an audio feed, several discussed in vendor review section.

3) IQFeed probably "best" for data quality, backfill, features. Kinetick is the same if you use NinjaTrader. You can find a comparison as a sticky thread in data feed section of most popular feeds.

4) Check broker review section of the forum. Your question about HFT makes no sense, why are you asking this. And penny stocks are not allowed to be discussed on futures.io (formerly BMT).

Hi Mike,

I think there is a misunderstanding. I am not hiding the fact that I am very raw and that I have read a lot of conflicting information about the NinjaTrader Platform and its Brokerage.

I honestly dont know why my question does not make sense. Is HFT illegal? I just simply wanted to know if anyone knew if the Brokerage firm supports this type of trading.
As far as penny stocks go....If you do a search on the site there are numerous references to penny stocks. Are penny stocks illegal? I am in the USA so I believed they are legal?

If may suggest your welcome letter should state in large bold letters that these topics are not allowed because I am not here to offend but to learn to do things the right way.

Hi,

Regarding HFT - I am saying that you (an inexperienced trader) has no business asking about "a brokerage that supports HFT", the question makes no sense and you shouldn't be focusing your energy on that. In other words, it doesn't apply to you.

For penny stocks - futures.io (formerly BMT) does not allow them. I have no clue what you are talking about saying there are numerous references to penny stocks on futures.io (formerly BMT). Please link to those posts, because it's not allowed. I didn't say it was a federal crime, just not allowed on futures.io (formerly BMT). The reason is simple: it's a losers game and has no place in the professional world of trading.

Hi Mike.

When you go to advanced search and type in the term penny stock I see several references to "penny stock".

I even went to the end to see if the mods closed these threads but they are still open.

Thanks for replying and explaining what I am doing wrong and what is not allowed.

I think what would have helped is if a pop up appeared when I went to create my first post stating that we are not allowed to discuss certain topics.

Two other things about HFT:

1) HFT, in my opinion, is an arms race. If you plan on competing on millisecond or microsecond level, be ready to spend as much as Jump Trading, Ronan, and Citadel do to beat guys like you. That's in the 8-9 figure range.

2) Given the velocity of trading involved in HFT, most (if not all) HFT shops are self-clearing to keep costs down and to have control of the route to market. They don't go through brokers. They are, in effect, their own brokers.

Feel free to keep asking questions - that's the only way you'll learn. It sounds like you need to find out what style of trading works best for you.

Again, if you're trying to find your way with what kind of strategy you want to use, I would recommend reading Dr. Alexander Elder's book "Come Into My Trading Room" and the books by Brett Steenbarger to start. They are very good in setting you on the right track.

jj28west,

Welcome to futures.io (formerly BMT). It is a great site and you have done the right thing and joined as a paying member which you know gives you full access to this site. I wish I had found this site before losing thousands.

Yes there is a misunderstanding, you were not being told no, just that your chances of losing big $$$ were high (around 99.9% IMHO) if you wanted to become a HFT.

There will always be conflicting information about just about anything as long as you have more than one source of information.

I would suggest before putting any money out there: first download NT7, read the over 900 page manual that you can download in PDF version, also sign up for NT7 support site, all this so you can kick the tires before buying.

There are all sorts of things you can do for free with NT7 in SIM mode. Since you are a newbie as you say it is also best to SIM trade first before losing real money in the market. (Yes I confess I did not do it that way and totally regret it now to the tune of thousands.) And after losing I went back to square one and started all over with SIM trading. I'm at square two now with about 98,777 left to go.

What a lot of people don't know is that you don't have to have a paid version of NT7 to get support. The 999 page downloadable PDF manual file that has much of the ins and outs of using and programming NT7. Yes I said programming, but I guess you probably already know that since you have asked about HFT.

Think of NT7 like a big box of Legos (I'd use Erector Set example, but you may have not had one when you were growing up. Made Legos look tame.) Either way though with the Legos you learn how to build your structure, and with NT7 you learn how to make a custom trading platform that works for you. There are indicators that you can either program yourself, buy, or download for free most of the time. I have been using NT7 now for over three years and have just scratched the surface of learning about the platform. Since NT7 is written in C# and fully configurable, and they even claim you are only limited by your imagination with what you can do with NT7. Last night I was reading a thread on futures.io (formerly BMT) about a person that was programming NT7 to behave like a paint program, while he was toying with the idea of creating a heat map for the market.

So don't wait any longer. Attend a few webinars. Download NT7 and Welcome to futures.io (formerly BMT).
