My results, over more than 2000 trades, are much weaker on Wednesday's and Friday's. Friday is known as often a quite day, and that makes sense to me, but Wednesday does not. Today it's FOMC day which could make the market more quite. However, today, the FDAX is indeed moving terrible while the EUR/USD and CL are moving quite well. Also since FOMC is only once in six weeks this doesn't convince me that this is the reason for my results to be so much worse on Wednesday's

I am wondering if this sounds familiar to more traders or if there are other reasons I am not aware of.

Thanks!

I've seen personally that Mondays and Fridays suck for me. So I have curtailed how much I trade on those days, I only allow one stop out on Mondays or Fridays, and I often skip Fridays completely.

My Dax results are totally different. My statistics over 2,5 years now on trading only ONE trade per day
shows quite strong Monday and Friday and very strong Wednesday gains.
Since 1 year I am no longer trading Tuesday and Thursday as the time invested to watch the development
of the trade did not pay back really. So my strategy changed to only trade 3 days per week.
So it will really depend on the strategy you are using to enter and exit the trade(s).
The statistic with gains in points:

As my system will be very different to yours and others one can not break it down for all.

Different days on different instruments do indeed seem to have alter-egos or personalities, some go more for turns, some for trends, some for chop, some for strength and some for weakness. On Dax for example I tend to be shy of Mondays and Fridays, expect a choppy climb on Tuesdays and stronger moves on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

However, statistical generalisations always fail at the coalface, which is also why probability is of only limited use in what is really a field of uncertainty, so deep factors may be hard to grasp. Looking for daily variations may also depend heavily on your particular strategy, so wide perceptual differences between different traders would not be unexpected.

Also - what are Tuesday night parties like? Life factors can intrude in surprising ways. I often think the Dax was behaving mardily when it was really me or the missus.
