Welcome to

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

a choice.
a choice for freedom.
a choice to stop running from yourself and face your darkness, your fears but also your greatness.
a choice to stop lying to yourself.

and ultimately, a travel towards a better self. hope many of you will make it. I didn't yet, still did not stop preparing.

I voted part time job although it is a significant part of my income.

I trade to fund my retirement.

I wouldn’t call it a full time job because I spend too much time doing other things.
I wouldn’t call it a hobby because my hobbies usually cost me money.
I’d call it a Home Based Business.

It is hard to find the Truth when you start your search with a preconceived notion of what the Truth will be.

Interesting the poll shows 52% are voting trading as a full time job or career. Significant numbers surely. That sentiment seemed to be far different than just even a few years ago.

@Cloudy, also that just 1 in 5 consider it a hobby or past time.

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

What's the difference between professional career and full time job? I assume professional career is something you've been doing longer and take more seriously, perhaps in a firm with other traders?

I would assume that a "full time job" would be one where you are looking after yourself. A "professional career" would be one where you are advising others as well as looking after yourself and getting paid for that advice.
