great webinar, thanks John

I generally like the topic of orderflow and any peek behind the curtain is helpful.

What did you think of the webinar?

Mike

I did listen to the webinar while doing my usual Spartacus workout just to make sure i'd stay awake during the whole presentation and to be honest i have not learned anything special in terms of order flow. I consider myself a newbie in that department as i rarely look at Footprint or the DOM but again i was disapointed. How is it that no one seems able to teach these order flow without bringing to the table some convincing scenarios/examples. I still believe these tools are for scalpers. That is traders who think you need to win a high % of the time with a small stop loss to make money. Sigh!

well, if you would look a little more often than just rarely, maybe a few things would start making sense

sure it's a scalpers paradise. but very, very often order flow leaves a remarkable note at swing highs and lows

I look at the wick of a candlestick as very often it tells a story about what is coming next

Seriously, the guy is a pro and has been using these tools since a long time. One would expect to see examples of real world application, but not a single real world application was shown. Nothing was mentioned in the webinar about the context or structure as if it was secondary. Also, who in his right mind would like to look at 3 or 4 DOMs to trade the bond just to be sure what he sees makes sense.

to be fair, he said he was going to show only basic stuff. even though as I mentioned earlier, I don't agree with those either.

now here's a real kicker for you. you're right, context and structure shouldn't be secondary. in fact it's not needed at all. a good dom (like mine ) or 2 or 3 and that's it. no charts necessary. then you're a pure order flow guy.

unfortunately I can't trade that way, I still need some kind of context or structure

Tell me just one thing he mentioned in the video that you think will have a "great" impact in your trading and that you could apply tomorrow? It must be something fantastic or out of the ordinary.

I am sorry good sir, but if you were expecting him to present everything that he knows, your expectations were a bit quixotic.
