hello traders wanted to let a bit of questions, for example:
trading is your only job?
How many years did it take before they become operational?
prefer automatic or manual trading?
those who use the automatic one does on a single market or different?
though different in different markets use the same algorithm?
better backtest or a market replay in NinjaTrader? and why?
I hope that you respond in different so that you can have a nice comparison and that there sian different ideas .. what is the basis of the forum really!
hello everyone and happy trading!

Ciao @bergimax

Your questions are mostly answered in many posts and threads here on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT).
Just dig in and type "profitable" in the search box - there will be many threads to read from front to end.
Another try would be "automated" and you will find thousands of posts on this theme.

On the other hand you might start with this thread:

and see what traders reported when they were about to quit.

I prefer manual trading but I am also trying to develop automated systems. It takes a few months to learn how to trade, it took me about 3. Being consistently profitable is another issue that depends on many things. There is a lot of money to be made (and lost) in trading.

IMO it is too dangerous to leave automated system unattended unless you can guarantee that disaster will not happen.
