day trading after work?

Back during the late 80's and early 90's I did all my trading while also working full-time. This meant that I had to already have my trading plan in place and get my stop orders in before work.

Because back then I carried one of those hand-held realtime price quote machines, I could during breaks get to a phone if necessary to make adjustments or get out of trades. Bottom line, it was hard but it was doable.

These days, I trade full-time and anytime. With the Futures and Forex markets, you can trade all day and night.

But to address your question about 'daytrading', well, if you are fixed on doing that you may want to focus on the FOREX.

FOREX trading does allow for more activity around the clock. However, there will be slow periods and there will be fast periods, so sometimes you'll get a lot of activity and sometimes not so much.
