Hello - I'm new here and thought this would be a great place to ask some questions. I follow some automated signals from Collective2 that get sent to me through email. What I'm looking to do is convert these email signals of the stock to option trades in IB. The trade signals are for a stock, so I want to convert this stock signal to the next months option 30+ days out of expiration. I'm not sure what the process would be, maybe use the email signal, convert in NinjaTrader, then over to IB, or Excel first, I don't know...

Thanks in advance for any clarity.

PS- I'm not a developer, so any pointers on where to hire / how much they would charge would be good too!

Cant you send the signals directly to your brokerage if you subscribe to a given strategy by a vendor?
Are you paying for the email signals you are receiving?

Matt

Trading futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. You may lose more than your initial investment. All posts are opinions and do not claim to be facts. Please conduct your own due diligence. Use only Risk capital when trading Futures.

Sorry, I think I forgot a piece of the puzzle. Yes, I can send the Collective signals directly to IB, but my main objective is to convert the signal to buy/sell a stock to buy the stock's option that's 30 days out.

I am still debating if autotrading options through a signal service is a good idea.

Thanks for the link Mike, I didn't even see that spot!

@vegasfoster - I figure I should leave it to the programmers to figure out the best auto-trading solution, then I'll just follow along through the service. It's worked great so far, but I am manually getting the email, then manually buying corresponding option
