Hello all, I'm relatively new to actively participating on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT), despite being a member for a few years, I was active on other trading boards/chat rooms over the past few years under the handle n00btrader including DH's room at eminiaddict, and now Ben's room at tradersaudio/tos marketcast. I've met a few traders through these places, and made some good friends, as it's always great to meet in person, relax, enjoy face to face discussions, create real life friendships/bonds, and work on our trading together.
I've been trading on and off for the past 5 years, and am now focusing on it with 100% effort. I'm in the NYC area, trading CL discretionary , using acd, fibs, s/r, pa. I would love to meet some nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) members in the NYC or Tri-state area, who would be interested in casual or serious regular meetings with nearby traders, I think it could only benefit us all as a group. Please introduce yourself and post if in the area/interested!
EDIT: Update - Our group has been successful and is expanding, see post #24:
Hey all, just an update for anyone who may be interested, we've established a nice little group of local traders from futures.io (formerly BMT) and held regular meetings around the NYC area. Some of us found regular Trading Partners through the group …
To get in touch, in addition to posting in the thread, please send me an e-mail with your info at [email protected] including your trading experience, instruments, style, etc, I'll consolidate everyone's info and send out a group e-mail, and we'll coordinate together. Please feel free to e-mail me at any point, and I'll add anyone interested to the list.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Trader from North Shore of Nassau County here. I trade primarily energy futures and take some choice setups in other futures instruments like ES, 6E, gold, silver,, etc.
Getting together with other NY trades sounds great!
Futures Operator mentioned he has been getting pm's from those interested and not many posts on the thread.
Maybe if we all post here we can get a good thing going.

Glad to see your interest, and congrats on the baby! Hope all goes well. We will of course do our best to accomodate the needs/schedule of everyone interested.
BTR, thanks for your post! Love following your trades on mfbreakout's journal, and glad to see another great trader in the area who's interested.
With over 400 views and only 2 replies, I bet we have some lurkers, please post up if you're possibly interested, but we can still start small for now and go from there. We could also branch out to other boards/social media groups/other traders we know etc but I would prefer futures.io (formerly BMT) members if we can. For those interested, what area/days/times would work for you?
In addition to continuing to post here in the thread, it is probably a good idea to exchange info in private (PM or email) on where in NY each member resides and discuss some of the possible convenient locations to meet up. I can understand and respect peoples need for privacy, especially in an open forum and do feel some things should not be posted on the thread.
I very much agree with FO in that we should just get the ball rolling with those who are interested as of now and newcomers can join in whenever they want.
Schedule wise, most weekday nights can work for me, as well as various weekends both day or night (NY trading hours as well as early mornings will not work).
As long as I am able to plan in advance by a few days, I am pretty flexible.

old wall street lore, long before the age of automation and computerization (in the 1960's) required that like minded traders form partnerships and a shell company and concentrate power, knowledge, abilities and futures at a formal office location, centrally located where the competition or fellow industry types had their offices...
