My broker tells me that I have to purchase or lease the NinjaTrader program in order to access the ability to use ATM strategies and compile scripts, etc. Anyone else have an account at Mirus Futures and were told this?

Thanks... Hap

You might consider moving your account to Velocity (not affiliated with them)

They don't "lock" any functions of Ninja while in "sim mode". Also, some brokers charge an extra fee (per transaction) if you use the "static dome". They don't charge extra for that, either.

You are right. But the problem with Velocity is that they only offer Ninja with TT. TT is not bad but they told me that they have to configure their TT fix adapter with a coalescing of 100ms to use it with Ninja.
That means the price updates only every 100ms.
You don't have this with ZenFire.

Exactly, plus TT doesn't provide historical backfill I don't think (not 100% on this).

Thanks, guys....

I HAD an account at Velocity and ran TT and then found NinjaTrader. Wanted to switch at Velocity to NT and was "talked out of it" (because the broker said NT was too unreliable) so I moved my account over to Mirus. Was using NT "just" for the DOM for a long time as I have my own spreadsheet, but slowly have added some charts to NT with my account at Mirus. Now I want to program some ATM strats, but I don't want to pay for anything more. I'm already paying for Esignal feed to feed my Excel sheet. Just trying to save some expenses here. I can live without the ATM strats, but they'd be nice.

Maybe someone else will chime in here. Appreciate the feedback.

H

Yeah, that's the only thing I miss. If I start a chart at 10:00am, there's no refreshing back to 8:30. I just have a chart that starts at 10:00.

Jugador,

How do you compare Velocity's data feed (i. e. Trading Technologies) with Zen-Fire ?

Do you use Velocity ? I just signed-on for their SIM account and I shall appreciate it if you can let me have any relevant information in this regard.

Well, I haven't tried Zen-Fire. But, I did try a couple of live trades when I first got it, (yes, I am currently using Velocity), and the fill was within a second of placing the order (with the TT platform). I hope to go "live" soon,(with Ninja) and will give some more feedback on fills.

Most everything is handled by email for setting things up, and it's straight forward and simple. They'll email you the info you need (passwords), and you can log into your account to get the same info if you forget something.

I only had to talk to someone on the phone once, and that was to tell them what quotes I wanted (ES).

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me...

Actually, I think I had to log in to my account to get passwords. (didn't want to make it sound like they were reckless!)
