I prefer range bars. If you do any automation or backtesting, the no gap range bars will not work because they open at the previous close and this will cause a 1 tick difference from reality.
Minute bars have gaps, I don't see why range bars shouldn't.
Slightly off topic but close. Gaps in data are part of life. If you backtest be sure you select a bartype that is based on the data as opposed to an artificial gaps or no gaps. Hopefully this makes sense. It does to me. Ha
