Hi Kickmic, great setup you have there.

Have you measure how much noise comes from those fans in terms of dB, with the computer case closed? Because they would be really silent, no?

hi and thanks

noiseblocker multi-frames running at under 900RPM can not be heard with the case closed from where i sit, which is 1 metre away.
for specific dB readings, you can refer the review at silent pc review Fan Roundup #6: Scythe, Noiseblocker, Antec, Nexus, Thermalright | silentpcreview.com

all the fans (inc the larger Phanteks 140 for the drives) are PWM. I have a preference for PWM over voltage control, as voltage control builds up heat (due to resistanc

Is more than 2 or 3 monitors essential for good trading? I was wondering if at some point several monitors become a distraction or if an extra monitor can only ever be viewed as a good thing?

I look at so many charts, i need more than one monitor and they are tiny, so bigger and more of them would help. I have only 2 for charts one each on one pc. One for ninjatrader and trade execution and the other monitor is switched with kvm for forex mt4, TOS, and other pc for email web etc.

TOS i use for watching djt, sox, financials, tick, trin, vix, appl, oil, and comparisons of some combos of them. In ninja i watch 6e, 6j, 6c, 6b, 6a, ym, es, nq, tf, zb, dx, and 5 time frames of the one contract i am focusing on and a dom and time and sales linked, and time and sales constant for zb, huge blocks of the 30-year bond can be a clue...

2014 Setup

I have decided for me the ideal setup is (6) 32" monitors stacked over and under with the right and left facing 30-45degrees inward toward desk chair. i will have (2) 22" monitors mounted over top of top left and top right 32" facing downward. 20ish degrees. I will probably go with 32's over 27" just because its my preference... For now my setup is shown in pics. (2) 50 left right facing inward, (2) 32" center over and under with a 22" under bottom 32" which is used for surfing during trades.... I can trade 2 instruments and never close a screen and surf on the 22" while my eyes can easily glance to trades in progress.....

good setups guys. I think the chair is as important as the view, and agree with the earlier comment ergonomics of the screen and desk saves a lot of pain. what types of chairs have you gents gone with?

I've basically gone with the same one as my day job. So I feel like I'm at the office at home or away. not entirely the most healthy thing for me mentally come to think of it..lol

I got tired of spending $200 on a chair that would only be perfect for a year or two. So, I went to the pick and pull and got me a leather drivers seat out of 2008 Mercedes-Benz. Welded my old base to the seat, bought a new lift, and I am loving it. If I had time I would have wired it up to utilize the electronics (seat warmer, lumbar, and recline). Maybe my next one.

A mate of mine showed me a site (I don't recall the name off the top of my head), but they made office chairs out of old jet ejector seats and other jet components.

ROFL...those Benz car seats are nice, those old ones used to be hard not sure on the newer ones. I think they have softened them up.

BTW Hammerhorn, where did you get yr PC rig above and what was the final price?

Got to love how guys think.

Muchos gracias
