Anyone have tips on turning there trading spots into a more "stress free" area, such as a calming atmosphere, something like pictures on the wall?

I'm going to upload a couple pics here in a sec of my desk.

Still haven't gotten my office setup, but this is what I'm currently using. I have good speakers for music, guitars to pick up between trade decisions, and of course a handgun sitting on the printer.

This is more like it. It is funny that people actually clean their trading area before taking a picture. You'v got to see the pile of Chinese and pizza delivery empty boxes in my office before my maid shows up. She would hate me if it was not for the big tip she get.

Cheers!!

Believe it or not, but some of us (ok, can only speak for myself) actually keep our desks clean like in the picture all the time I am a believer in the principle that if the outer world is cluttered, it's a reflection of the fact that my inner world is also quite cluttered, rendering me unable to concentrate or focus. So for me, it's clean desk, or no trading (except for my plate at my desk during lunch, and a coke bottle).

I trade noticeably more in the "zone" and confidently when my desk and surrounding work area is free of clutter. Each night before bed, I make a habit of cleaning my desk and the area I'll be trading. Helps start off each morning fresh, focused and neat.

OK, I read through the thread, and of course, I am now green with envy. I've got my 3 monitors, but nothing to write home about.

One thing I thought might add to the discussion is this little widget I that I find very handy:

One place to get it is here: SIIG CE-MT0P11-S1 Desk Mount for [AUTOLINK]Flat[/AUTOLINK] Panel Display The company makes a bunch of other configurations too...

Besides making it easy to move the monitor around, when I have a bunch of reading to do, I turn it 90 degrees, and viola! the monitor looks like a big sheet of paper. Portrait mode also works well when I want to look at a chart with a bunch of lower studies on it.

Finally, when the market is chopping around, I can always tilt it about 15 degrees, and instantly it starts trending! (Wouldn't it be nice if that were true!)

It actually is true (depending on how you look at it, quite literally). Just enter on a pullback and have something near the channel top as target.

Well, that was a little comical exaggeration regrading a pile of pizza boxes, etc. But I used to be a real neat freak and highly organized in every aspect, as for most engineers, until was accused of being annal retentive by a sweet and slow talking Southern redneck girl. She convinced me that if I let some of that stuff go I will have a much less cluttered inner world. Boy was she right, my handicap dropped to 6, my bank account started to vanish, and my inner world and thoughts became so uncluttered that I can get lost in there now without a point of reference.

Cheers!
