I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and I'm 4 time zones earlier than New York, 3 hrs from Chicago. The markets open at 5:30 am and I am not a morning person. This is my battle station.

COMPLETELY unrelated, but my GF and I visited Fairbanks early last year on vacation. What an amazingly beautiful place. 5:30 sucks... but at least you have scenery and nice cool weather! (I run very... very hot... so I THOROUGHLY enjoyed my time there lol) Trade safe, friend

That you got it right, Fat Tails. Thx

I am really astonished that most of the monitor setups are completely ignoring basic ergonomic requirements.

The distance between the monitors and the eye should be somewhere between 20'' and 40''. The distance also depends on the size of the monitors. In case that you use 24'' monitors, the recommended minimum distance is 30".

For the setups above I cannot see, how you can work with your PC and at the same time maintain that distance. The distance from the edge of the table to the panels of the screen should be at least 20''.

The most relaxing position for the head is to look downward at an angle between 20° and 30°. If you use two rows of monitors make sure that you have the main stuff displayed on the lower row and only occasionally watch the upper displays.

@Big Mike, @bijeremiad: With the way you have set up your monitors you are going to kill yourselves.

That you got it right, Fat Tails. Thx

@hen322 came in third place with the Battlestations Challenge.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place will each receive:
Daytradr Trading Platform – Lifetime License ($879 value)
1-year Live Trading license ($500 value)
1-year Journalytix license ($399 value)

I was congratulating him for winning. I'm too new of a trader. I really don't have a "battlestation" at this point, lol. Just a laptop. Big Mike runs frequent contests, so keep checking back.

Hi guys,

It is my pleasure to announce a new challenge event for November 2019: Battlestations! (with $1,400 in prizes)

With this event, we are encouraging members to share pictures of their trading desks. We will be giving away $1,400 in prizes in total, with all prizes being equal to the top three winners.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place will each receive:
  • $150 Amazon Gift Card - plus 1 month of Earn2Trade's 100k Gauntlet Mini™ ($315 value)
  • $150 Amazon Gift Card - plus 1 month of Earn2Trade's 100k Gauntlet Mini™ ($315 value)
  • $150 Amazon Gift Card - plus 1 month of Earn2Trade's 100k Gauntlet Mini™ ($315 value)

These prizes are provided exclusively by @Earn2Trade, a site sponsor on futures io. Please thank @Earn2Trade for their contributions to our community, and for agreeing to exclusively sponsor the November Battlestations event!

There are just a few simple rules to follow:
  • a) The contest begins November 1 and ends November 30. All decisions made by futures io are final.
  • b) One of the photos in your post must show the futures io logo on our website. Don't forget!
  • c) Take a selfie or have someone take a picture of you at your desk! For at least one of the photos, we want to see your face! We are making this optional but highly recommended.
  • d) The photos need to be uploaded here on futures io. No linking to external sites. No videos.
  • e) You may submit multiple photos (please do!) -- but only your first post in this thread, containing photos, posted between November 1 and November 30, and following our rules, will be considered for the contest.
  • f) Winners will be chosen by counting the numbers of "Thanks Received" on each qualifying post.
  • g) You are ineligible to win if you have previously won a Battlestations event within the last 12 months.

I am looking forward to seeing a lot of great trading desks! Please remember to follow the rules, and please remember to vote by hitting the "Thanks" button.

Thank you to @Earn2Trade as the exclusive site sponsors for this event, donating the more than $1,400 in prizes.

Hello friends,

Here is the trading station I use. Over the years I've tried many different setups and ultimately SIMPLE wins it all for me. The office is surrounded by a forest which I something I also found to be loving. Just going out quietly for a walk is a blessing.

Why am I entering?

I have tried many combines in the past but haven't been able to pass yet, however took the lesson and moved on. This time all the constant improvement will be with me to pass the Gauntlet. I will share the whole journey with you in a FIO journal and offer third of the gift card to the local dog shelter, so that the support goes to their well being as well.

Best,

M
