Thanks for the flashback! Rotary phone modem, not shown, sold separately. My dad has an original TRS-80 Model I, back before they added the numeric 10-key to the keyboard.

My first PC was a TRS-80 Model 4D (graduation gift). Learned how to hack assembly code on it. My first modem was 300 baud (~0.000000558793544769287109375 or 5.5879e-7 Gbps for those too young to know what baud means). I loved that keyboard. Never traded on it, though.

For what it's worth, 30 years ago futures.io would be: Futures BBS (formerly known as BMT BBS).

ROFL!

My TRS-80 Model 1 is still in the attic. I used to help a friend out with his giant 100 node [!!] BBS Back in the day too.

I don't think E-minis were even around back then...

Wow that must have been quite the setup... it was always a bummer hearing a busy signal on the other end of the line lol...

Excellent. Thanks a lot!

How do you find it trading from such 'small screens'? Is it merely a matter of habit?

I'm used to 2 x 22" now + my laptop. Hopefully, I can adjust.

Yeh I don't feel any restrictions from it.

You'll adjust in no time.

Great.

Best of luck with your trading.

I might be hitting the road myself soon, but I'll try to take that in another thread. Please watch out for that one if you have any advice you'd want to share on that.

Or when you have just spent hours downloading a file which finally reaches 90% .... and someone picks up the phone.

Hi guys,

It is my pleasure to announce a new challenge event for August 2019: Battlestations! (with over $5,000 in prizes)

With this event, we are encouraging members to share pictures of their trading desks. We will be giving away over $5,000 in prizes in total, with all prizes being equal to the top three winners.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place will each receive:
  • Daytradr Trading Platform – Lifetime License ($879 value)
  • 1-year Live Trading license ($500 value)
  • 1-year Journalytix license ($399 value)

These prizes are provided exclusively by @Jigsaw Trading, a site sponsor on futures io. Please thank @Jigsaw Trading for their contributions to our community, and for agreeing to exclusively sponsor the August Battlestations event!

There are just a few simple rules to follow:
  • a) The contest begins August 1 and ends August 31. All decisions made by futures io are final.
  • b) One of the photos in your post must show the futures io logo on our website. Don't forget!
  • c) Take a selfie or have someone take a picture of you at your desk! For at least one of the photos, we want to see your face! We are making this optional but highly recommended.
  • d) The photos need to be uploaded here on futures io. No linking to external sites. No videos.
  • e) You may submit multiple photos (please do!) -- but only your first post in this thread, containing photos, posted between August 1 and August 31, and following our rules, will be considered for the contest.
  • f) Winners will be chosen by counting the numbers of "Thanks Received" on each qualifying post.

I am looking forward to seeing a lot of great trading desks! Please remember to follow the rules, and please remember to vote by hitting the "Thanks" button.

Thank you to @Jigsaw Trading as the exclusive site sponsors for this event, donating the more than $5,000 in prizes.

Having fun here Every morning I grab a cup of coffee, rub Buddha's belly for luck, put on my battle helmet and enter the combat zone. I'm running 3 computers and 9 monitors. This setup has grown organically over the years. I really want to build an entirely new setup eventually. I'm currently running Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 which is awkward at times. Although I have many monitors, it still is not enough screen real estate. I constantly have to decide which charts I need the most. I've had a really tough time picking and staying with one type of analysis. I wish I could just trade a moving average cross or some really easy strategy I do many types of volume analysis, trend analysis, comparative analysis, orderflow analysis, paralysis by analysis, etc. I use Sierra Charts, Tradingview, Bookmap, MT4-5, Financial Juice, Forex Factory, Twitter and any other shiny object that catches my eye

I like to view my most useful simplified market charts, and use on-chart orders. Attached is a photo of my workstation.
