Here is my trading station. The PC is built from the ground up by me to handle having as many applications open as i can stand at any one time. Ive never had it fail me or not be able to keep up no matter what the markets are doing.

six monitors all the way! On the top three I run six charts which will show my current orders (I try to not have more than 6 orders simultaneously).

It is no wonder I am struggling, I use just one monitor...

Teehee! Seriously, when I get profitable, I feel expanding to four monitors with a fifth for miscellany will fit me perfectly.

I think Mike might be a bit psychic... I've been meaning to post to this tread for a while now.

I have 6 monitors that I just moved from Philadelphia to my new residence in Istanbul. (Yep, wife got another gig.) It was quite the ordeal getting them packed and over here via airline excess baggage, the trick being to get secure packaging without the case eating up a large percentage of the 50 pound (22kg) maximum baggage size. And also not breaking the bank. Custom case people want some coin, but I came out alright in the end.

Once I got here I found the fun had only started... I bought a hex monitor stand from "another company" not as good as the one Big Mike used. I unpacked everything, and DOH it was too small to fit my monitors, despite the specs saying it would. Cut to me in a Turkish metal shop with lots of pointing to get the articulated arms extended.

Now I'm up and running, but Fat Tails is right; I'm too close. I got a desk from Ikea, the widest they had, but it's not wide enough so I look like someone in his illustrations.

Next week I'm off to see the "wood man" to get something that will keep me the appropriate distance from the monitors. I'm going to try to get a piece of wood 110 x 178 cm. 110 should be wide enough, but where did I get 178?

This way I'll have a Fibonacci desk!

I'll post some pics when the last of the dust settles...

-Bob

Not a huge fan. Sounds cool on paper but if you've been in marching band, boy scouts, ROTC, Times Square New Year's countdown, queueing up for the TSA, or whatever you call it that requires standing for an extended period of time, it's an awful feeling.
