Guys, a refresher:

Here are the rules:
a) One of your photos must show the futures io logo on our website. Don't forget!
b) Take a selfie or have someone take a picture of you at your desk! Optional, but highly recommended! (Qualifies you for a 50% discount on FIO Elite membership.)
c) The photo(s) need to be uploaded here on futures io. No linking to external sites. No videos.
d) You may submit multiple photos (please do!) -- but only your first qualifying post in this thread will be considered for the contest.
e) You are ineligible to win if you have previously won a Battlestations event within the last 12 months.
f) The contest period is March 1 to March 31, 2021. All decisions made by futures io are final.
g) Winners will be chosen by counting the numbers of "Thanks Received" on each qualifying post.

I noticed a few entries without the Futures.io logo in the pics, would hate to see you guys miss out on the opportunity to win prizes!

Hi Guys,

First things first … I wanted to make sure I got Futures I.O. logo in there so that’s the first photo A bit small but do hope you can make it out all right. :-) As for the hardware it is a 32” main screen surrounded by three 25”. I thought about getting 28’s but liked this ratio a bit better. As far as the PC specs are concerned I really don’t remember other then I paid a lot of money for it last year. Obviously not a tech guy here, just a trader, and have been doing it for a little over thirty years now. I like to say it’s not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog. So while not the focus of the contest I do want to point out that what you are looking at is a combination of advanced volume analysis, a basic indicator tweaked the way I like it, an advanced cyclic method I developed, and a geometric pattern I also developed that I use for hunting S/R areas. In the background I have Wave59 running which I pull up whenever I want to look at things from a different perspective. It all adds up to a combination that works for me and hope your setup does the same for you.

Good luck to those who enter the contest and the best to all here,
Joe

Wall mounted a 50" Toshiba 4K TV with a thinner one beside for my 30 minute footprint.
I'm running an R.O.G Asus gaming computer and a Mac (for the news)

Set up a "captains chair" to be at the right height.. (found it at staples - reasonable) Adapted the
mouse board from a lap desk to the arm rest. The post mounted keyboard is from my laptop
truck mount - works really well. (I'm also high enough to look out the window )

Wow! CPU speed of 39,255!!!

That will get the job done!

I recently went from a speed of 2469 (Dell Optiplex) up to 18,327 (Ryzen 5 3600X New build). Finally the new pc could handle the NQ data without freezing up!

Xidax looks like a decent company.

Still seeing some awesome entries that will not be eligible because they don't have something as simple as the futures.io logo.

Don't go to the trouble of posting your great photos without crossing all the t's you will need.

Great entries, let's have more.

with all the customizability of websites for admins I find it hard to imagine that it is not possible to add a sticky post to the top of every page of a thread that way the rules can be posted and no matter what page someone is viewing of this thread they will see the sticky rules post

I answered the survey with saying I had five monitors but I only really use four.
The upper left is for email and stock scanners. The upper right is for Zoom meetings only so it actually gets used mostly as a bulletin board. Despite what is showing, the bottom left is for testing scripts and following the indexes intraday. The center is where all the actual trading takes place, and the bottom right is for quickly seeing the trading activity and news feeds for my watch lists and setting alerts.

So really, I use the bottom center and right about 90% of the time.

I started this journey with a Dell Optiplex 780 (CPU speed of 2469), 16g of Ram and a 34in wide screen LG monitor.

Even though that PC functioned for a few years, once I started trading the MNQ, it could not handle the fast data.

I searched high and low for a computer company that did not gouge its customers. I could have built one by ordering parts. But then I happened upon Magic Micro Computers. For a few months with the help of their great menu, I "built" many different PC packages. I would research many different combinations, CPU's etc. etc. I used https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php to help me decide on the all important CPU speed.

I finally decided on a Ryzen 5-3600X (speed=18,324) due to the speed and affordability. I also wanted more RAM. 32gig fit the bill. Water cooled. Below is a copy of the build. I am very very happy with it's performance.

The setup in the picture is:
1. Samsung 43in 4K TV for the MNQ chart (3min.) and Bookmap. I can toggle back and forth between the old PC (emails and browsing) and the standalone Magic Micro PC for trading only.
2. LG UltraGear 32" Class UltraGear FHD Gaming Monitor 5ms/165 refresh rate. Use for DOM and Chart trader on the MES (2min.) and trade performance.
3. Above is my original LG 34. 10min. and 120min. MNQ and MES charts.

This "battlestation" happened organically. I will eventually replace the TV with a 43 monitor.

All trades are short in nature. Mostly 1.5 minutes and sometimes 3-5 min.

Since this PC was a great buy, I thought someone would find this info. helpful:

Due to COVID, working and trading from home since last 1 year and this is my trade-setup or battle station.

I try to keep things normal and minimalistic as the more I add, the more i get drawn into and emotions kicks in .

Hardware: 34 inch widescreen monitor by LG over Wifi connection. I have two laptops - Macbook Air (MacOS) - use for traveling, and ASUS Vivobook (Windows) - use when not traveling, and place trades from mobile phone - Samsung.

Software: NinjaTrader 8 and TradingView.

I am not a heavy traders, and take only one or two intraday trades for the entire day.

Here is my setup (Sorry for not so clear photo)

I trade mainly NIFTY Futures, and hope you like my trade setup .

Hardware: Large/high def monitors and a kick ass desktop station to run it all. The details can be imagined.
Redundant net connections, backups, etc. for "just in case" moments.

Software: is what matters most to me to make sure that I can keep my "finger on the pulse" of the market.
Using Sierra Charts with customized charts and setups for my eyes and psychology.
On the left - larger time frames. Center - instrument in focus. Right - other correlated markets and indexes.
While we all need to find our own edge and way of working with the markets, much of valuable education came and still comes from FuturesTrader71 and the team.

Good evening to all traders.
This is my war station for the moment. There is still a lot to do, but it will improve as my income increases. My path as a trader started very recently.
IMG_20210312_173239-2

This first photo shows the setup:
-1 samsung tv plus 55 inches
3 monitors (on the left a ten-year monitor ready to be scrapped with a new one but still doing its job)
in the center a 27 DELL where I monitor the main things and on the right a curved sumsung where I constantly monitor ES.
on the table an IPAD pro to view news and follow other things beyond the market.

This is a screen that briefly shows my intraday trading setup.

This is me after a not-so-profitable day. We will do better tomorrow
Thanks for the attention.

Happy trading everyone and thanks to this wonderful community of people who make us feel part of something.

Ps (The photos were taken 2 weeks but uploaded now)

Sorry for the late submission, but here's my trading workstation:

I have:

1. Fibre Optics Internet connection for low latency.
2. Six 24" Dell monitors I used exclusively for trading.
3. 15" Laptop with 22" monitor I use for webinars, news, and other trading related research.
4. Desktop with Ryzen 7 2700x; 32GB of ram; 2 x GeForce 1060 graphics card to run six monitors.
5. Two APC UPS for my modem (in the basement) and for my desktop.
6. Sonos Play 5 and Play 1 for Bloomberg news in the background.
7. Herman Miller Aeron Chair.
8. Trading Library.
9. An Action Board to remind me of major economic news; upcoming webinars; long term projects; and weekly profit targets.

BTW, I've been asked about my chart background colours. It's a propriety indicator I created back in 2018 (that I'm not ready to share just yet).
The colours tell me how to trade. During an uptrend: if dark green is followed by light red it means I should possibly cover my long position and I should wait for the background to turn dark green again before re-entering a long position. If instead, it turns from light red to dark red, I need to definitely exit my long position and possibly go short. Conversely, during a downtrend the opposite if true. If dark red is followed by light green, it's a warning to cover shorts. If the background turns dark red again, the short trade is back on, however, if it's followed by a dark green, it tells me to immediately cover my short and enter into a long position.
In short, greed bars with a green background = long. Red bars with a red background = short. If bar and background colours are not aligned = consolidation. My goal is to ride trends (the longer, the better) and to exit/scale out of positions when trend/momentum strength is weakening! A simple system for those days when I didn't get much sleep.... I just follow colours to trade.

Hi All

I have been thinking for a long time to either post on this thread or not Finally I beefed up my courage and have now decided to only register my participation and nothing more than that

I am a Pre-Beginner, and as of now learning about Futures(especially about Price Ladder, Volume Profile, Footprint, etc.). In around 2 weeks time, I will do some replay practices and then will do my first trade in Futures

Cheers

Bravo!

You don't need most of what people post here, as it is more of a whose is bigger competition (which may be counter to getting started). As you mature, sometimes more is better to a degree.

When I vote on this thread, I vote for who has cleanest set up (my desk is normally not eligible lol) and has explained why they have/need what they have. Also environment is a huge factor.

I think you will find "traders" in general are a very supportive group. Sometimes less is more & what you have there is perfect for what you need at the moment.

Market Profile/Volume is a great method to learn - it will serve you well in the future & across many markets.

Best of luck to you!

Here’s my Desk. I revamped the layout and tried to clean it up a bit. I used to have one 46” monitor and one 32” now I have TWO 32” right in front of me and I added in a 32” Visio sound bar with a subwoofer so I can enjoy some music or awesome webinars haha
Also I finally got a battery power backup for internet and the monitors, I tested it with my new configuration and it supplies me with 9 Minutes MAX to be able to get out of a position/ save my work.
I don’t get a kink in my neck anymore and I can hear everything going on and I have the confidence that I won’t be totally screwed if we have a power outage. 😂

While I appreciate all this, but it makes me think do we *really* need these many monitors and these many charts to look at to be successful? Because I know someone who uses a single laptop with two charts in it trading very good with 80-100 lots everyday....

Instead of a trading desk, I created a "trading couch" setup.
Since we traders are sitting countless hours in front of the screen, I realized that setting up my system next to a couch is a way more comfortable solution.
When I am travelling I am also fine with a high-end laptop but this system is amazing in testing workloads and also when there is extreme market activity, the lags are minimal.
I advise everyone to keep up with the new technologies, institutions and algos are getting better and better.

The computer
Processor: Ryzen 9 5900X
Graphics card: Asus TUF nVidia RTX 3090
RAM: Corsair DDR4-3600Mhz 64GB
Keyboard and mouse setup: Couchmaster Cycon2

The monitor
I used to have 4 monitors, but decided to switch to a single 8K monitor (82" - Samsung Q800T), which has 33M pixels (equals to 4 x 4K monitors).
Usually I use it on higher resolution scale (150%), when I focus on one market, typically ES (first photo).
But when there is more to be followed, I switch to the 8K mode (second photo).

The charts
I use Ninjatrader, TradingView and Bookmap with support/resistance lines and indicators, volume profiles and iCOT.

I recently went from a speed of 2469 (Dell Optiplex) up to 18,327 (Ryzen 5 3600X New build). Finally the new pc could handle the NQ data without freezing up!

Xidax looks like a decent company.

what does it mean by 39255?

I'm not a computer guy but I personally built this PC myself. Don't ask me how I just followed instructions on YouTube lol.

Hey! I'm curious why do you divide the ES over MES

The highlights for me are the standing desk and the keychron k1 keyboard.

And of course the cat, who does all the trading I have to confess.

So that I can place MES trades on ES charts. I prefer to use ES order flow and technicals but when I take a position it's actually an MES contract.

Ohh that's how Sierra shows it when you set a different trading symbol.

I noticed this too! The orderflow of the MES is kind of "fake", the ES is much more clear.

Hello Geld (Mr. Money), sorry it took a while to respond to your question.

Just in case you are not familiar with the CPU speed of 39,255, that refers to the speed of the Central Processing Unit.

CPU processes the data
GPU is the graphics card
RAM is the memory

I hope I don't insult your intelligence by mentioning these things.

A 10 year old Dell PC's had a CPU speed of about 2000. Fine for entering a longer term trade. Poor choice for scalping as it can not process a lot of data say with the NQ.

Over the last years, professional traders recommended a CPU speed of at least 8-15K.

I just built a PC with a CPU speed of 18K. For me, that now would be the slowest that I would install in a new PC.

So when some of the traders on this site choose a speed of 39K, they have just about the fastest processor there is.

Here is a link to a site that you can check out the processing speed of just about every chip out there. The site has a large menu for investigating other components of computers also.

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

I hope this info is helpful!

Tschüss!

Tradeer,
Nice setup. Can you please tell me about the two clocks on the upper center screen?
I like them!
Thanks and good trading.

Hey,

it's called BClocks. You can also use more than two and make the look whatever you want. You can also adjust the time zones. I don't know exactly where I downloaded it just goolge it. But be careful not to get a virus.

Congratulations to all 38 members who participated this month in Battlestations!

Isn't it great viewing all these awesome desks? Doesn't it give you some ideas?

I want to thank @SharkIndicators for sponsoring Battlestations this time around with the following great prizes:

Prizes:
  • 1st place: $500 of Shark store credit, or a $250 Amazon Gift Card
  • 2nd place: $300 of Shark store credit, or a $150 Amazon Gift Card
  • 3rd place: $150 of Shark store credit, or a $75 Amazon Gift Card

In addition, I wanted to encourage selfies this time around, so I did something I've never done before:

Posted a Selfie?
  • Everyone who posts a selfie* will receive a 50% off Elite Membership coupon code

Out of our 38 participants, 7 didn't follow our rules (were missing our logo) unfortunately, disqualifying them (they are still listed below). We also had one sponsor participate @NinjaTrader), and of course Ray knew he wouldn't qualify, he was just posting to have fun (and I envy him for those races, and find the NinjaTrader branded car to be awesome looking!)

Below, I've listed all participants and included a link to their post for the top ten:

#1 @Daytrader999, 22 thanks:

#2 @Winemaker, 21 thanks:

#3 @Shmo7, 21 thanks:

#4 @Tradeer, 21 thanks:

#5 @willieboy, 20 thanks (disqualified for missing logo):

#6 @Chof, 18 thanks:

#7 @FuManChou, 18 thanks:

#8 @redbarntrades, 18 thanks:

#9 @brettji, 17 thanks:

#10 @ThescalperAnalyst, 17 thanks:

So, we have a tie for 2nd place meaning we go based on who posted first. @Winemaker posted before @Shmo7, and @Shmo7 posted before @Tradeer --- by 3 posts difference!. This should be a reminder to everyone to post quick next time!

I also want to mention that @ThescalperAnalyst is our #10 spot, despite tying with @brettji and @Cornbeefsoup, based on when they all posted.

Here are the rest:

@Cornbeefsoup, 17 thanks
@Malykubo, 16 thanks
@tandem, 16 thanks
@Massive l, 16 thanks
@machinegan, 15 thanks
@mrdisney, 15 thanks (disqualified, missing logo)

Hi Big Mike, it was enjoyable seeing all the fancy shmanzy tradestations!

Since I posted a selfie and I would be eligible for a discount for an elite membership, if possible I would donate that option to Trentatron in Knoxville who is just getting started with futures. He
has posted in "specializing in trading only one instrument".

I do not need the discount as my wife has an elite membership already.

If not possible, I understand. Also, he may not be interested at this time also.

Hasta Luego!
