I trade off of two different setups, primarily, believe it or not, I trDe from my car about 90% of the time. From there I have a dual monitor setup using a steering wheel laptop desk, an all leather mouse pad, a surface pro and my phone. Obviously all of the trading happens on the surface pro. The phone is really for a hotspot but often used to check FIO and other sites while trading. If I don’t feel like sitting down, with just a 90 degree turn of the surface pro, it’s now setup for standing mode.
My preferred trading station is my home setup.
2 24” monitors
Logitech G602 mouse (setup with hot keys for NinjaTrader)
Perixx keyboard
Samson Meteor mic
Logitech C920 webcam
Bose Companion 2 Series III speakers
My computer is one I built 4-5 years ago specifically for trading. I honestly couldn’t tell you the specifics of all the hardware but it does have:
Corsair Graphite case
Intel i7 processor
Gigabyte motherboard
16gb ram
Nope, not the bedroom! After a few years away from trading I am finally in a position to start looking at the markets again on a daily basis so back at it with a bang.
Laptop with extra screen for browsing and news, desktop with two screens for charting and execution.
A bit old and battered but getting the job done.
edit: No idea why one picture is upside down, it seems to depend on what device I look at it on!

This happens sometimes. The forum software is trying to determine the correct orientation of the picture. Usually it's right, and sometimes it gets it wrong.
One of those odd things that just happens....

The main trading setup runs a 49in Samsung Super Ultrawide, with a 34in LG Ultrawide, and 2 27in vertical Asus monitors. The PC is custom made running an i7-4790K Devils Canyon with a MSI GTX 980. The second setup is used for running trade the news and other news /software. It currently is running on an older Alienware x51 R2 with a 43in Samsung Super Ultrawide and a 50in Vizio TV.
I started trading about 5 years ago with ETFs, specifically UGAZ and DGAZ. This is my first year trading futures and so far they are my favorite! (ES, GC, CL, NG)

Was wondering which resolution is more appropriate for viewing “extended desktops “/ Split Screens ?
Also, since we are demoing with charts and figures/ numbers - which monitor technology is best :
IPS
TN
VA?
I’m assuming IPS due to color accuracy / text reproduction (less perfect for games due to lower Herz - but 96-99% SRgb ) - and I hear the other two are better for games 144-200 Hz - but may produce “burn -in”- so if Monitor areas stay the same for long - May produce artifacts.
Also 29” vs 34” , curved vs not - and anyone uses the SUPER WIDE SCREENS ? (I think they are like 6ft wide ?)
Looking forward for some real world input.
S.

I have been trading futures full time for over 20 years.
My trading setup is a few years old and is about to be updated with a new AMD spec machine, I had to relocate my trading room as my new place is currently being finished.

The only issue i had was the cable to it. I found it must be an active or powered HDMI cable. An AOC HDMI cable otherwise the picture is not clear. Its a cheap 4K tv but the picture is perfectly clear on 4K resolution with the correct cable.

Hi guys!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone! It is my pleasure to announce the winners for our Battlestation contest last month, sponsored by @Earn2Trade.
It was a pleasure to see everyone's entry into our Battlestations event, and we look forward to continuing this in 2020!
Thank you @Big Mike and @Earn2Trade and for all who have voted! It means a lot to receive this support and as I promised I will journal my process and spend part of the gift card to share the FIO love.
Regarding the prize: My trading has considerably slowed down recently and I would like to ask @Earn2Trade if it would be possible to run a normal gauntlet where I have two months and slightly different ruleset, instead of the 100k mini, which requires much more of an aggressive trading style.
Greatly appreciated,
M

what is the cloud cover study on the 10 minute (this one doesn't look like an Ichimoku)? Also, the bar study over the relative volume...i think it's labeled QT(3,4)?
This is an interesting post, and since you said "opinions welcome," I'm sure that you will find some.
I should point out that this thread you have posted it in, "Battlestations: Show us your trading desks!" is meant for people to show actual photos of the physical desks they trade at, with their monitors and computers and all the cool hardware.... not their "desks" in the sense you have meant it, their chart layouts and setups.
There's nothing wrong with your post, it's just in the wrong place. If you skip back in the thread a page or two, you will see what I mean. (The posters who commented on charts in the posts just above yours were responding to questions about screens that showed on the photos of their monitors.)
One good thing you could do for this kind of post would be to start your own trading journal in the Trading Journals forum, here: https://futures.io/trading-journals/
Or, if you just want to put out the screenshot and your explanations for comment, you could open a thread in any of the other forums -- Traders Hideout is sort of a general-purpose one if nothing else comes to mind: https://futures.io/traders-hideout/
So, we would appreciate it if you reposted in a more appropriate location. It keeps the forum more organized and makes it easier for members to find things that interest them.
Thanks.
Bob.
