Bar timer

@Big Mike

Suri webinar reminded me that I had looked on futures.io (formerly BMT) for a bar timer not counter( counter counts down till bar close, bar timer tells how long it took for a bar to close in seconds and could be used for tick,volume,range etc bars) before and couldnt find one, does anyone know of one? also tradestation bar timer oscialltor looked interesting does Ninja have one?

Did anyone get a better understanding of market structure and how to conceptualize it after seeing the webinar?

Did anyone get a better understanding of market structure and how to conceptualize it after seeing the webinar?

Let me summarize and offer a little reductive clarity:

Its all about Highs and Lows and their Ratios

Their pullback retracements .38 .5 .62 .78

and

Their potential extensions 1.27 1.38 1.62 2.0 2.23 2.38 2.62 3.0 3.62 4.26

off of a higher low for a long "ABC" pattern (which is really an AB CD )

or

of a lower high for a short "ABC"

All this within the "Context" of the next higher time frame up.

which was in Suri's case, primarily the previous day's Fib Pivot levels and their potential extensions.

This context is used for the following trading day's important price levels and targets,

once the current day's price or market structure develops a viable ABC pattern long or short.

@Rad4633,

I have an indicator under futures.io (formerly BMT) download area (Bar Time Indicator) that is pretty much the same as Suri's. Just set the threshold to 150 under parameters. I f you are interested in knowing the exact time for bar completion, just set the threshold to a large numeber, i.e. 99999. Here is the link:

NT has built in indicators for these. Look for tick counter & volume counter respectively for tick charts & volume charts.

Not the same.

I built this indicator many years ago called "Timed Bar Span", but it is similar to the ones shared. The idea is to put it on a non-time chart, like a tick or volume chart, and then time the length of the bar. Nothing to do with a countdown timer built-in.

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

Bar Timing Climax bars

@aligator @redratsal thx for links on bar timers

aligator, as you know I cant code, can you explain to me what determines the different color short time bars?red,orange,aqua,blue?

Could I ask if you could make the option to make color choices so we could make transparent average taller black bars ? as you can see in my chart what I am hoping for is to be able to define when a climax bar is goin to reverse at key levels, or after it passes thru support/res and is ready to resume ABCD

Thoughts?

and FYI I do like your Gradient bars
