I currently use MTrust (Millenium) for my IRA futures account. They charge 300 dollar annual fee to hold your funds which kind of sucks. Only people that dont charge is the ones like fidelity but then you cant trade futures.

Yes, no futures at Fidelity. I'm using a minimally funded IRA account at IB for the futures stuff.

From my initial research, I think you can open an IRA account at ETrade or TD Ameritrade, and trade futures through them...at least I did not see anything saying you could not.

The commish will be higher...

This may not be the spot for my question, so please move this thread if there is a better location.

I am wondering if anyone has experience with trading/active investing through their IRA...?

I am about to open a SEP-IRA through my sole proprietorship, and I will have a solid chunk of change in this IRA...so I was just wondering what my options were in terms of how I could invest/trade it myself...

Also, if you have advice on who to open up the IRA through, I am all ears...

i am a new trader and have just rolled a small 401k into an sep-ira with midland ira. they explained the whole process to me and helped get the funds transferred. the annual fee is only $100 too.

I am looking to rollover an existing IRA to a self-directed IRA so I can actively trade the account. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience and could recommend a a trustee that will allow the following.

1) Trade futures
2) Trade using Ninjatrader using a Zenfire connection

I currently have my trading developed with Ninjatrader and so not wish to have it convert to another platform.

Thanks in advance

We work with Entrust, Millennium Trust, and others for that matter.
The trustee/custodian in our case has nothing to do with your platform and your choice of platforms would remain as you wish.
