Have a similar tick chart, but there are small differences and the absolute levels do not match. The upper level +800 and the lower level -700 were both exceeded once, which was not the case on the tick charts above.

I have tried to understand the differences between the different charts above. So let us have a look what the NYSE Tick actually is:

It is the difference between the number of upticking and downticking stocks. This number is a snapshot that can be taken at any given time.

Now it all about how many snapshots are taken, that is how often this number is updated. Different data suppliers use different update intervals. I have enquired about this, and it seems that the original NYSE Tick as supplied by the exchange is only updated every 6 seconds. If this is the case, it may explain that high readings, which only occur temporarily are not detected by data providers who use the NYSE feed.

If you really want to use high NYSE Tick readings for fading moves, then you need a data feed with a faster update interval than 6 seconds.

Further a Line-On-Close charts hides the most interesting information, which where the actual highs and lows. Doesn't this chart tell you more than a Line-On-Close chart?

Thank You!

I don't know where their feed comes from he used to say Comstock so I am guessing it's IDC now , not sure, but $Tick never worked for a very long time, and I see that they finally got it updating through Mbt symbol is $Tick.n , i just wanted to see if it was even close

Hey guys, may I ask you to post your NYSE $Tick data to compare.
Date: Monday Marh 24th 2014

I'd like to know where I stand with my ThinkOrSwim $Tick data. It seems to update every 2 seconds.
Is there any free $Tick data feed so far? Thanks
