If you want a more technical answer, it is because of the way Firefox handles the vBulletin ajax editor which is different than the way Chrome handles it. Some prefer the Firefox way, but if you are having trouble with it, then your choices are either to not use preview, or if you want to use preview then use Chrome instead of Firefox.

Also to use the mention feature, you just type at sign username, it didn't work in your last post because you put bold bbcode around the at sign.

Thanks for the clarification about FF. That's exactly what I was talking about, if I did wrap the @ sign (and I'm sure not questioning Da Big Dog just an example) I couldn't see it because I see no bbcode in my message box after I preview a post. Thanks again, you're more than helpful.
