There are predatory algorithms that try to detect buying/selling patterns. If you want to build a large position in an illiquid stock prior to earnings, then you have algos that will do that and other algos that try to take advantage of them.
Still - the sort of algos we are talking about - the ones that split large orders are a different beast. They used to be pervasive in the market but now are not really required on some markets (Futures, specifically) because the exchange made changes in Oct 2009 that split up large orders anyway. So - as the clever programmers at the exchange do the job, it's not really necessary for algos to do it.
Anyway - spotting a VWAP engine accumulate a position over a number of days is a tough job. On the other hand, the splitting of orders when a buyer or seller wants in NOW. Is a different matter.

I have found a pattern in this stock, and I am making money with this pattern for last 2 weeks.
I am not sure what it is, but I think I have spotted some algorithm going on here in this stock. Here is how it happens..during the trading hours, you can see some trades with SAME size repeating very frequently, and on the same side(either bid or ask).
Like this
1190 303 (size=303 on bid)
.................
.................
.................
1190 303 (size repeat on bid)
.................
1191 303 (size repeat on bid)
.................
.................
1189.5 303 (size repeat on bid)
In a filtered T&S that shows only trades of size 100 and above, you will find this 303 coming at interval of every 5/6 other trades. This indicates that some one is selling lots of 303 stocks repeatedly. Another thing, as long as this continues, price remains within a trading range, just like distribution in longer time frame charts appear.
It is a trader who collect large position and selling it to the BID of client making a large position to him))) and BIG comission to broker. Big comission, current price. That is why market always go to the large orders.
Or trader may also go to short in the bid of client and cover his short by spreading on the other market. Good job man.
Also it is called "Repeating buyer" remember this pattern))
There also exist "Repeating seller"

from my understanding and information only CBOT Equity futures, and CME Equity futures are affected and not 'any CME market'
Since the CME released these changes quite technical and in my opinion much less than transparent for what they've really done, it would be much appreciated if you or someone else could shed some light upon this if I am mistaken.
Particularly because the Equitiy futures aren't the only instruments to trade at the CME respectively the CBOT.
No - it's all CME markets. At the risk of getting shot down in flames for linking to a vendor video - this guy did actually contact the CME to ask what changed.
Long at the opening market SL 2 ticks TP 4 ticks
Come get some

Previous LOW of the day. Tests shows big buyer at the limit side. I have wait until agression of the sellers fade away and enter long with limit bid order 1330 75.
I place my mind stop behind BIG limit orders (2 ticks) in the case of fail and wait for my profit target. Highest score. Very good trade scalp
