Hello, I've been daydreaming for a few years. Been focused on learning options for the past 1.5 years. Read Lee Lowell's book and like to learn about selling puts on Futures. Right now I know zip about futures. I'll be looking for videos and info in general. Thanks
I have been trading for about the last 9 months now. I have blown up so many accounts that I can't keep count now smh. I have been taking the time to work on my strategy and choose a product to trade that fits my personality.
I have been having some success just recently now that I've been taking the psychological aspect of trading more seriously and it's been helping tremendously.
I'm working on becoming better mentally and hopefully everything else will fall in line. Hopefully I can find some advice and guidance from more seasoned traders and grow on my trading journey.
I’m an 80-year-old Senior on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada
hoping to augment our pensions with some extra income through trading if
I can. I can afford to begin trading without fear of bankrupting us and would
start with the Micro E-mini offering from the CME.
I’ve been studying day trading of the S&P 500 with the OpenTrader Portal of
Ziad Masri and Awais Bokhari for quite some time now and am keen to start
with an active account but am having some problems finding a broker for my
region of Canada; I would like to use a broker with a Canadian presence if it
is possible; perhaps Interactive Brokers would be a reasonable choice?
Any input, advice and assistance from Canadian members nearby who are actively
trading with a reputable broker would be greatly appreciated; I would like to use Ninja Trader 8.0 if that is also possible as it would tie in very nicely with what
OpenTrader offers in the way of active daily support for their students.

Like most everyone on this forum, I have spent a good deal of time, effort and coin over the years learning and practicing the fine art of trading unsuccessfully. (I've amassed a world-class collection of indicators and methods that work remarkably well in theory.) Now that I've retired from a glorious career in information technology and have some time on my hands, I've decided to give trading one more try. This time, however, I took the approach that if everything I did before failed, doing the opposite must succeed! (There's a Seinfeld episode that demonstrates the power of this technique.) With that in mind, I began training with an ex-institutional trader and immediately saw that everything I had been doing up to now trading-wise was, in fact, utter crap. Along with that, I found various enlightening resources on the Internet: No BS Daytrading, Jigsaw, Fat Cat of Wall Street (no kidding, the guy is amazing and funny as hell). All of which pointed me down the path of order flow, depth of market, balance and rotation, time and volume, etc. In other words: no indicators, trend lines, patterns, or mysterious levels that correlate to the rotational velocity of Saturn's rings.
I'm just wrapping up four months of intensive studying and am about to start what will likely be two months of review and practice (market replay analysis, sim trading with live market data). If all goes well, I expect to be trading with real money before the end of the year. I've yet to decide whether to pursue funded trading (that's one of the things I hope to learn more about here); I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
So yeah, I'm on the trading journey yet again, but I believe that I'm finally heading in the right direction. It sure looks different. It sure feels different. I'm forging ahead, and I'm happy to share my experiences with my fellow travelers.
Just don't ask me about the rotational velocity of Saturn's rings.

42 yr old. In the past have dabbled into stocks and options (Leaps) using PA/candles based setups for position / swing trading. Recently ventured into futures and started with a very expensive indicator package provided on Sierra.
Trying to now find my own way, as cannot rely on up/down arrow providers always. Recently starting watching Fat Cat videos ad planning to do some well-researched courses.
Instruments i trade are MNQ and MES. Slow and Steady, not ready for the minis yet.
Anyone that has recently been in my place and is now finding feet, please reach out.
I joined the forum several months ago and am just getting around to introducing myself. I'm 42 with a wife and two little kids aged 5 and 8; a boy and a girl who keep me busy. I've had the same local government career for almost 15 years and it's treated us well in that I've been able to support our families minimum needs on a single income while living in central coastal California; not a cheap place to live.
I've never followed the markets or traded when I was younger or as an adult. It wasn't until I was bitten by the trading bug a little over a year ago that I got involved. I'm not even sure what piqued my interest but I started to research it and haven't stopped for over a year. I study at minimum several hours everyday and practiced paper trading for 6 months before opening a live account. It's been quite the experience so far and I've been thoroughly enjoying it, even the hard lessons all traders must go through in order to develop into consistently profitable traders.
