And what exactly are the basics? Ask 10 different people and you'll hear 10 different answers. I literally don't know what to believe anymore.

Fair enough, this is what works for ME, but I'm sure you can find a few things you can make use of:

1. DONT use signal groups or paid influencer courses etc ..., if they make 1M+ a day why do they need $50 a month subscription? They dump on you this one of the reasons why a lot of people feel the same way you do.
2. The basics for me are
- Order Flow, L2 and L3
- Price Action, Chart patterns

You honestly don't need anything more than those.

I found this for chart patterns: https://pennystocks.today/chart-patterns-every-trader-should-know/

But youtube is your friend, i learned a ton from youtube and forums like this, i promise you there is nothing special anyone can offer you in a ''paid'' group or the such and gurus who give out signals will dump on you.

I day trade so this works for me, i use tight stop losses, and R/R of 1:4. I don't hold anything overnight.

you don't need a million strategies or to trade a million financial products, i for one scalp QQQ options ONLY. and its more than enough to make a killing.

I would be happy to help you with anything or any questions you might have, I'm by NO MEAN AN EXPERT but I do well for myself trading full time.

@TheAshShow , @xsamanthax, this "Introduce yourself here" thread is meant to be a spot where people can get their feet wet making their first post, and to introduce themselves to the forum when they do so.

Let's not use it for discussions and dialogues.

After making an introduction, please post any new thoughts or points in regular threads, so posts can stay better organized by topic. It makes the forum more usable that way.

Thanks.

Bob.

Hi all!
I'm a trader in Melbourne, Australia. I mainly battle algos to scalp indices. I seem to have crept into "consistent profitability" (tm) recently, but not sure whether this is temporary or permanent. I plan to risk some prop firm's capital to find out. Looking forward to the Lambo and afternoons on the yacht!
Cheers
Mordecai

Hello all, I am Josh and I live in Chicago Illinois. I had a background in IT and started investing in 2015, in 2017 I started experimenting with options to some small success, fast forward to January 2020 I had found a strategy to exploit options volatility and grew a 3 figure account into 5 figures in less than a month over several dozen trades, when the covid shutdown I was still long on some positions and my broker froze me out from closing. I had lost nearly all of it. What can a man do but brush the dust off and get back up again? I took a break and tried to learn more and have dabbled with many different strategies over the past year while focusing at least 6-10 hours a day on learning. At this point I dream about charts and ideas. I am currently in search of proper execution where I believe my problem now lies. I have taken interest in Internals, Volume profile and Depth of Market and am trying to find a way to put them together to come up with actionable strategies for lower time frames. I look forward to learning from and with all of you in our journey to become better traders!

Hi, I've just joined and really looking forward to learning from you, and sharing what I know when I can.

I'm an engineer by training, and currently in the IT business. I've invested in equity markets for years, and have recently start to study and learn about trading in FX and futures markets over the last 6 months.
My aim is for this to keep me busy and keep the brain ticking over as I start to wind down with work (hopefully in the next few years) and make a few quid along the way.

I dropped my first few micro strategies live last week and thankfully no major howlers yet, but I'm sure there will be a few to report soon!

Hello all!

Sorry it took so long for me to make my intro post. Short and sweet....I am a 35yr veteran of stage and screen that got into day trading right when Robinhood came out (like millions of others!)...and had always been interested in being better at investing, learning about the market and so on. Discovered a love for the market and learning everything i could.

Unfortunately grabbed the wrong, and quite expensive, training at the beginning, and although it did teach me necessary terms, and concepts, etc...I could have saved thousands and just watched youtube! haha

Like EVERYONE else, I've had my blow out accounts, gains/losses, up and downs. But I've dedicated 3 straight years and literally thousands of hours studying, practicing, searching for my techniques, my strategies, and more.

Went from low float/momo stocks (yes I even traded GME!) to futures, mostly ES, NQ...and now I've settled on my favorite, the treasury futures, spec 5yr, 10yr Notes, and 30yr Bonds. Great instrument to trade and I'm finding my niche finally. Created a Treasury Futures Trading Group Discord for normal folk just wanting to learn from each other how to trade these amazing instruments.

Thanks for this community! And see you out there.

Hello all,

Recently retired from an accounting and finance position with a mid to large size city. Trading was limited to purchasing fixed income securities.

I'm hoping to learn how to trade futures. I've got a whole lot of learning to do before I start trading. Needing advice on where to start!

Thanks all!
Ray

Greetings traders,

My name is John. My chosen profession has been as a truck driver for the last 35 years. I started trading futures only in the early 2000's, although not consecutively on a year over year basis. When I've blown up my accounts(many times), it's always taken me some time to recover mentally and work enough OT to gather up enough discretionary capital to begin trading again.

I absolutely love trading and anything to do with trading futures(movies, books, podcasts, etc).

I admire those of you who trade for a living and believe I'm never too old to keep learning and getting better.

I truly wish all of you success and thank you for welcoming me into this community. Trade Well.

With Regards,

TruckerTrader
