Hi Big Mike. If I can, I just afer many years wanted again try to create my own strategy for Future markets with help of Market Profile or Market volume. I searched bit and wonder if and what software can help me and how deep I should go to learn about this trading approach.

Hi all, returned to this forum after about 12 years of trying to "wing it". Have settled on a strategy of moving average crossover using 6 sma / 21 ema, wait for cross, then pull back to touch 21, close below/above previous candle, little better pricing in subsequent candle and go. Having a terrible time of waiting for all these steps, but looking back on the day it seems to be a good set up. Wish I could do some backtesting to perfect settings. I typically use tradingview to trade AMP micro futures account. After getting chopped up (death from 1000 cuts) I go full micro and try to make it back. Was up $400 on $1200 account then managed to blow $444 yesterday. Got half back today. Also using topstep (in second month now), reset after having busted limit in 2nd week. At least this way its only costing me $200-300 per month, and the limits are helping me to be better risk manager.

Hi everyone,

My name is Sergio H. I am new member to this community, but have been trading for about 3 years. It all started with Forex and now Im soley trading the ES intraday. I've been trading futures for about a year.

Im still trading SIM, but am looking to start trading live in year 2/3. Im in no rush really. Using the time I use simulation to create an edge and familiarize myself with the market structure of the ES.

Anyway, glad to be part of a forum full of traders. Good luck and happy trading.

Cheers,

Sergio H.

Long time lurker. Finally created an account. Frequently visiting more since trying to focus on futures volume, liquidity, size positioning(beyond intraday). I use mostly ThinkOrSwim since also have a cutdown version of Bookmap setup, NinjaTrader 8 with prop firm basic sub. Looking to focus on Sierra Chart as main platform.

From personal experience its very lucrative if you know what your doing. If you are losing money take a break and brush up on basics. Will make a big difference to your trading i promise.

How do you know what to do? There is so much bad information out there and I feel like 99% of people/courses/coaches/books are trying to sell you on things that don't work. How do you actually develop the strategy to trade?

Risk management and psychology is easy. I can set stops, use proper R/R, etc. but if my trade ideas are bad and I have no long-term strategy because I literally don't know what to do (because I've been driven insane by false/useless information) then how can I be profitable?

I'm very frustrated because I am aiming for a better life and I am beginning to think this entire thing is a scam.

And what exactly are the basics? Ask 10 different people and you'll hear 10 different answers. I literally don't know what to believe anymore.
