HI All,

I'm new to trading. I recently downloaded and set up NT8. Before i start using actual money, i want to make sure i have a working strategy, be it manual or using an automated strategy. I've been reading quite a bit of info here on this site as well as many others. I look forward to digesting all i can.

Hi everybody,

I have a long-term investment portfolio and would like to learn more about trading. I have tried options and lost some money and caught a few swings with MCL. No major losses however.

Most interested in ES, CL and NG but there's a slight problem since I'm working late hours as RE fund MD in Europe, meaning I can only catch the afternoon session.

Futures are very intimidating and I'm not sure if it's actually the right thing for me. I know who are on the other side of my trades and I don't know if I can ever beat them at their game. However, I'm willing to give it a good go.

My risk management and psychology should be in a lot better shape compared to my TA skills and general feel for the price action. So, this is something that I would like to learn the most from here.

I use IB as a broker, platform and data, and it's a pain in the ass for technical analysis. Considering learning Sierra Charts. Any advice on beginner setups would be highly appreciated.

BR

Welcome @ssild

As for a platform suitable for techical analsys I am sure people will provide their view on what they find useful.

What I could suggest if you are pushed for time is to look at platforms that provide market replay capabilities, so that you don't have to be necessarily in front of the screen as and when the action takes place.

Instead you can replay any day at any time of your choosing. Depending on your trading style this may or may not be helpful to you.

Good luck!

Dear futures.io members.

First of all, hello !

I'm Arnaud, a 29 Belgian boy.

I discovered trading at the beginning of 2019.

I started on the FX spot, I learnt with some "online Guru" and of course I lost a lot because I didn't respect my trading plan, my trading rules and my money management.

My trading psychology is not good at all and I know I really need to change it because it's the key of success in this business !

Anyway I'm learning from my mistakes and I'm gonna do my best in order to improve my tarding psychology, my trading skills and for sure follow my trading plan, my trading rules and my money management !

I learnt a little about trading the FUTURES market and to be honest, in my opinion, I think it's a better alternative than trading FOREX on the long term.

FOREX is not transparency as FUTURES market is.

I like so much trading currencies but I'm gonna do it with FUTURES FX market and a little on FOREX with some prop trading firm if I success the program of course.

I also like so much trading Crude Oil & Gold but I still didn't trade it with my own money it was on demo account.

When I'll have the capital and the skills (psychology, risk, strategy) I'm gonna trade the FUTURES market.

I'm glad to be part of the futures.io forum and I wish the best success to all the traders here in your life !

Cordially,

Arnaud.

Hi Big Mike,

Thanks for creating this resource.

I am a dad and student of this game of trading. REKT 3x but not ruined - abiding to the rule don't trade what you cannot afford to lose.

So here I am and I am here to learn and maybe share a proverbial sweet nothing along the way.

Peace.
The Shovler
