Hello every one

I started by trading nano cap stocks in 2000 broke about even due to the fact I would always take half the profits and party, after that I lost my trading capitol following someones advice a few times as well as lack of discipline , after a few years lay off I am back and learning a great deal online, I am now attempting to scalp the equities markets.
I have built an amazing trading system in think or swim, yes its the holy grail of paper trading systems

Anyway its great to be part of this wonderful investment community.

A special thanks to Big Mike Wow great site.

Hi guys,

Peppe here from UK/Spain
Have been trading for a while, mainly sparingly. Now willing to make the jump to algo-trading.
Have been working for a while honing my coding skills, that I consider of utmost importance in such a field - I believe that you can have the best thoughts ever, but with no appropriate language they are not worth as much anyways

Happy to use all of you guys to learn as much as I can

See you around

My name is Derek, I am from Canada and I have just started my futures day trading career. Today is actually my first week trading live. I have been a free member here since 2013 and I have just bought the Elite membership. I feel futures.io is the best community for me to be a part of going forward. I have read just about everything on day trading over the last 5 years hoping to one day make a career out of it. Over the last 2 years I have become more serious and prepared to take the leap. Well I have been working a 9-5 job for 20 years and I finally quit in January 2018. I had saved up 2 years wages plus 25k in a trading account. I spent this year sim trading and trying to figure out what works for me. I feel very confident with the price action setups I am using and look forward to seeing what my live trade sample looks like. I am looking forward to reading and watching the elite posts and webinars to help me with my challenges going forward.

Thanks!

Hi Friends,
I traded futures intra-day, back in India for a year and lost quite some money. I am very technical (M.S. in comp science from Texas A&M) but could not do well in trading. Using API, implemented my own platform with some intelligent features, however, could not make use of it to generate profit cause somewhere I lacked the fundamentals and jumped into trading prematurely. I have learned a lot from my losses and am hoping to leverage the knowledge in moving forward. I am not willing to give up so soon. So, here I am in phase 2 of my investment life.
Now, that I am back to the U.S., things look quite different and confusing at the moment. In India, it was just the broker through whom everything happened - platform, API, execution, etc etc. I am very hard working but I am going to need guidance from kind-hearted people. I am in need of lossless ticker data (websocket or something) and full fledged API. Platform/front-end does not matter that much. Response time is very important. So far, I understand from resources of this "wonderful" forum, that one of the fastest way to trade is to use TheOmne VPS with Rithmic API, however, I have no idea how to get started on it. Wish to have a paper account with that configuration but do not know how to go about getting one. I also need really granular time and sales historical data for WTI Crude and Natural Gas for starters.
Any guidance will be appreciated. There is wealth of information in this forum that I have to start reading. I am so glad I reached here. I really have some positive feeling that this might just be a turning point in my life.
Thanks Big Mike for your unparalleled contributions!
Thanks & Regards.
-Sam

Greeting All,

I guess my story is very similar to most.
Successfully lost a good years income in the market over the last decade.

The passion never died and continue in this journey till I am old and Grey!
Then I came across a local guy teaching on the basis of Hurst Cycles and that was about 18 month ago.

Never forget the first thing came out of his mouth:

Don't believe a word I tell you! Prove it for yourself.

Which all made sense.
Anyway he said don't do it, however I quit my job and became a full time student of the market.
Finished the course and then I realized now it is all up to me make it happen. I came across this site by sheer accident.

Looking forward to learn and master the art of trading which is mostly my own emotions and psychology .

Cheers
Amin

Hi there, introducing myself here.

Just starting to get really serious about trading after about a year of very steep learning curves and cramming everything I can find to do with trading.

So, I've leaned a bit about trading, now I'm trying to learn a bit about *how* to trade (which it turns out, is the difficult part). If that makes any sense...

I'm also trading very small position sizes by spreadbetting instead of demo trading while I learn this craft with the intention of scaling up when I become consistently profitable, but the principals are the same.

I hope I can make a good contribution..

Regards

Hi All

Just a short introduction.

I'm from Amanzimtoti, South Africa.

I've wanted to Day Trade for many years, but started in the traditional way with Shares.
Did the courses, bought the software, traded demo accounts and lost money when I went live.

Doing hours of research, trading on old news and boring long term investments has never much appealed to me.
That was a time when you had to phone your broker to do a deal...
Now everything can happen at the click of a button. VERY exciting!

Now that I am on the verge of retiring, my temperament is calmer, my bank account isn't desperate, and all the technology is in place.

I have my two trusty indicators, and I want to trade the E-mini SP500.

All I need now is a good platform, fair fees and commissions...

It took much searching to find a community of traders that are serious, and knowledgeable. This is somewhere that I can learn from other traders who are actually trading.... Not selling software.

Thrilled to be a part. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from this community.

Cheers

Brian
