I live in Denver, Colorado and have been trading for a little over four years. I became interested in trading because of my first job out of college doing accounting/administrative work for mutual/hedge funds. After four years of doing that and moving up through the company, I realized I was spending literally all of my time at work and rarely was rarely spending time with family and friends. This led to me becoming an unhappy, negative person and extremely dissatisfied with my quality of life.
It may sound kind of ridiculous, but after my dog died last September, I realized I needed to make some changes in my life. I was devastated enough over losing my dog and it would have been much worse had it been my parents, brother, or one of my close friends. So after saving up enough money to fund a brokerage account for trading futures (and to live on for over a year), I took a big risk and have left my job to concentrate on trading and managing retirement accounts for family full time. I think that I have pretty realistic expectations and am well aware that not a very high percentage of the people that try to trade for a living make it, but I did not want to look back in 10-20 years and say "I wish I would have taken that risk." To me the risk is well worth it because it is allowing me to do something that I love and am truly passionate about while also allowing me to catch up on lost time with people I care about.
I have been reading posts on futures.io (formerly BMT) for over a year, but for some reason had never signed up up as a member. Seeing as how I know that I have still got a lot to learn (and really can never stop learning if I want to do this), I decided to sign up and utilize the wealth of information here.
Hello My name is Elsid, have experience trading for last 10 years, always had issues following my own rules, now I want to get serious about following them to the T and developing a trading system that I can follow and flows with my personality.
I'm a developer by profession for more than a decade, and it fees like that relying in monthly pay is not enough. And seems trading is a good way to make money for the free time i have. Hope to learn from your forum
If you read the error message, I am sure it told you exactly why the limitation exists and in what particular subforums (Vendor Reviews/Broker Reviews).
Tried to post by using the "Ask a Question" button on the homepage, and tried to get it to post in the appropriate forum when asked. Didn't get the 10-post requirement until after I failed to get it posted and lost what I'd typed.
Rather frustrating...
BTW, good luck in your fight with Amp. The fact that they'd come after you because they pissed off so many people is reason enough to never use them.
