Hello I am just beginning trade instead of invest. Because of low commissions I would like to use IB. I've put money on the sight but the TWS intimidates me-- doesn't seem as easy as TD. Would like to have the power to short the markets instead of buying inverse ETFs. Question is: What is the quickest way to learn the in and outs of IB TWS?

Hi, what in particular you want to know about IB TWS tws is very easy you can short any instrument but you need to have enough about 25 % [ margin account ]. you will have the MARKETVIEW PANEL for any quote.
Thanks.

perhaps, it would be a great idea to put all your money in your saving acct for now.

then sim trade for 6 mos or whenever you can prove to your immediate family members that you can do everything profitably in sim....

then you can start opening up a live acct with any one but not everyone....

they are many good brokers around and there are also many not so good ones too....

when you are ready, just ask everyone around here, many will be glad to provide assistance.

have fun learning. this is the greatest place to read, listen and learn.... cheers

Hello all,

I'm a (very) young trader.
I am 18 this year,

I started trading when I was 15, and opened a live account when I was 16( using AHEM) documents..
Of course, like all traders, I blew up a couple of times, find myself going for course after course to learn a bit more, just to "donate" back to the market right after.

Soon, I learnt that there is no holy grail, it is the trader himself, it is pure mathematis and logical reasoning which will get you somewhere, that you have to think logically without emotions and be PATIENT.

My current method of trading is Price action, indeed I have went on and studied all types of indicators, from rsi to stochastics, to macd, ma,ema atr, Bill williams, fractals ,AO, AC, Dipolli, etc etc. You name it.

But alas, went into price action, and just 2 months ago, I found myself consistently profitting(FINALLY)

Once I think i have a good setup and try it out live I start losing money. I hate to lose money. hopefully I can find something that will help me. need a good easy set up and easy to follow entries and exits. want to trade (scalp) oil, gold, mini russell, euro.
