Hello Everyone,

I am excited and happy to have joined this group. I have been trading for 3 years, and started focusing on ES futures about a year ago. As most people that try their hand at this, it has been a rocky road to say the least. I am kind of in a vicious boom and bust cycle, where the booms are smaller than the busts. I keep going through long slow grinding growth periods, followed by huge drawdowns in my account. I have a strong appetite for risk, and have trouble getting out of losing trades. I can identify my problems, but have trouble breaking out of them. Anyway, I feel I have made some big breakthroughs lately in finding the Holy Grail, by accepting there is no Holy Grail, and everything works sometimes, but not all the time. I feel that my edge has to come from my discretion and grinding out a risk model that makes sense over a long period of time. I am hoping to gain some knowledge from the more experienced, and hopefully network and find some new insights, ideas, and most importantly, some accountability friends and fellow traders. I am too stupid and stubborn to quit this trading thing and thought this seemed like a good place to be. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I just wanted to say hello and thank you to everyone it advance.

Best Regards

Hello everyone.

I'm a London based software engineer by trade. I've dabbled in algorithmic trading since 2013 and I've built various backtesting engines for tick and candle based strategy research. I've tried market making strategies, HFT strategies, TA strategies. I've built custom APIs to talk to exchanges and brokers but I'm now settling on a simpler setup and slower trading. I'm building a portfolio of algorithms trading various indices. It's been a long and difficult road to travel down and I've made a _lot_ of mistakes along the way (), but I'm slowly collecting dividends on all the time spent in in the market.

Looking forward to share what I know and learn from everyone.

Cheers!

@xplorer

I use whatever the broker offers. Currently that's MultiCharts and MetaTrader.

Hi I primarily trade the Indian markets and trade stocks, future and options as an asset class. I also use a combine account to trade the global futures markets

Welcome! I suggest the writings of Kevin Davey (@kevinkdog around here), with respect to algorithmic trading and diversification. My wife (a fellow trader) and I are currently working on non-correlated portfolio diversification, with our current algos strategies. We use TradeStation and MultiCharts.

Hi welcome! I'm really curious about the Indian markets. I haven't read much about them. Please share your experiences and observations, maybe in another part of the forum for general discussion.
