Hi Everyone,

I'm a long time lurker, but looking forward to being a more active member. I'm a former options trader that was always trying to get to that magical PDT status (25k) but only made it once before blowing the account on tilt. I love the "option" of being able to do multiple day trades with futures and not being so "married" to a position because you only get 3 / week. I'm looking to implement more discipline in my system and manage tilt better.

Hello Futures.io!

I traded for a Prop firm in Chicago from 2007-2013 spreading USTs. I took some years off and as of 2019 am trading outright futures.

Glad to be here and am already grateful for the resources on this site.

I haven't read her books, but Carley Garner has a monthly column in TASC magazine (Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities), entitled 'Futures for You". I find her writing to be clear and easy to understand for beginning and experienced traders alike. I recommend checking it out.

Hi all,

I'm looking forward to getting involved in the community.

I am from the UK but I live and work in Dubai, UAE. I've been trading since about 2018. I've traded everything, you name it, but I've been trading /ES and /CL for the last couple of months and my consistency is improving. I'm still prone to an horrific day which can wipe out the previous ten but I'm addressing that by changing broker. I was previously with IB but they have no max daily loss. (I also HATE their UI.) I've now moved to AMP Futures, will use Multicharts, and use a Rithmic datafeed. Rithmic allows AMP to implement a max daily loss. I'm my own worst enemy so if I can remove the ability to revenge trade or compound the mistakes, it will make a huge difference to my bottom line.

While I'm becoming more consistent, I also recognise I have a lot to improve. Dare I say it, I think I need to become a much better technical trader in terms of settling on 1-2 patterns that work for me day-in-day-out, the signals, correctly setting my stop and profit taking etc. I basically think I need to make my trading more automated rather than gut. I think my 'gut' has a place in my trading but I know that if I become more methodical, I will be better for it.

Take care all!

I'm trading FX, Futures (demo), spread and margin. Once I figured out that using M30 (FX) and 1 hour TF are much more useful than shorter time frames my success rate improved significantly. For trading FX my challenge is to know when to exit my trade. Setting SL and TP at the time of my entry is fine but often I was kicked out too soon so my gains were smaller than they could have been and my losses higher. I tried not to set SL and TP and exit when when my indicators said to close the trade but often price whipsawed against me quickly and I was in a losing situation unless I watched my trade non-stop. (For futures I watch my trades continuously and I set my SL / TP levels at the start). Long story short - My FX entries are fine and I'm successful >90% of the time catching the trend. My challenge is to find a method to exit my trades without watching it continuously.

Hi All

Here to learn anything and everything I can from those more experienced than me. Former F-16 Viper Pilot. Doing medical sales now. Would love to learn enough to trade full time. Great to meet everyone and look forward to being a part of the community.

Hello everyone!

I joined last week, i was looking for a good for murrey math lines and i stumbled upon an article written by big mike. I am a noob in the industry, i am still learning and still trading on a demo. Used to see commercials from traders, indicators, strategies but i never dared to see what was trading about, people used to warn me and tell me to stay away from this game and betting , guess no one of my friends had a proper idea what that is.

I am willing to learn and put in the hard work i wish i can find helpful people here.
I am glad i came here and hope to learn from you.

Looking forward to interacting with you.

Hi All,

I have been coding for years and years, but just discovered trading a couple months ago. The fun and the tragedy. I started with scalping the e-mini, made some money, got all cocky and lost even more. So I thought it was time to put the code skills to work, and have been paper trading and back-testing strategies with NT so I can build my account back up. There is a lot to learn.

A big kudos for putting all the work into this site, it has been very helpful so far and I'm glad I found it.
