Hi All,

Not Much to report - just the usual, - Failed Investor/Trader looking to turn the corner and get a slice of success.

Sounds a-bit down beat but i'm truly optimistic - (I Have to be).

Maybe this year i can come out ahead. (i don't trade a fortune and this is more of a hobby than business).

Still the idea is to profit.

If I remember correctly, you'll need to be an Elite Member to add an Avatar to your profile.

Like other traders I have spent too much time and money learning to trade. I have been using Ninja for about 5 years. I am still working on my own system that I can make a profit with. It is a long road, but I know that if you give up you will never get there. Sim trade until you are sure that your system will work for you.

Greetings, I have traded Forex for 4 years and have moved away from it now to embrace options trading. I've been studying since November of last year and have a window of about 6 months wherein I can aggressively speculate a $5000 account to see how much can be accomplished. Currently work from home and have been studying scores of books and courses, looking forward to success!

Just signed up for the Elite membership a few days ago.

Been trading for about 5 yrs, mostly Spot FX though making the move into Futures more recently.

I'm a new convert to Multicharts having been using MT4 ever since I started. So I'm learning Powerlanguage as well at the moment.

Have been crawling through the Elite section getting a lot of great tips on Easy/Power language programming, so looking forward to asking some incredibly stupid and embarrassing questions quite soon

Hello futures.io (formerly BMT). I've been trading off and on for around 10 years. At first I was mostly just investing in hot tips, that actually paid off, and then followed Warren Buffett some. Lately I've gotten more into learning technical trading and I have $1000 or so. Taking it easy and learning by doing. I've mostly been trading based on dailys and watching other timeframes for support of the signals I see. Actually sitting in a losing position that is looking up... hoping to at least come out even.

Looking forward to learning more from you all.

I have been trading 18 years, 14 in Forex. I built a 2k account to over 250K in 4 years using carry trades with no stop losses. Then the subprime crises hit and wiped out most of it. The same stubbornness that helped me build the account worked against me when the market went to all time lows in the USD/CHF and GBP/JPY. I decided to start again this time using stop losses. I have not found a method that utilizes stop losses that can deliver consistent profits. This Forum might help.

Hello futures.io (formerly BMT),

I'm new to trading and futures.io (formerly BMT), I worked in computer support for several years while playing online poker on the side and when I was laid off from my last job I started playing poker full time. The biggest companies in the online poker industry were forced out of the US market a couple years ago and the sites that remain aren't worth playing on for several reasons, so I've been looking for a way to apply my skill set to generate income and I'm hopeful that I've found it. I've intentionally avoided the market over the years mostly on principle and because I felt that between so much mental power dedicated to it, information asymmetry, and bending/breaking laws, there wasn't enough edge to be had. After researching for only a week I've concluded my original assumptions were far from accurate, not that the factors I mentioned don't apply, but there are lots of mistakes being made, and where there are mistakes there is edge.

So the journey begins.... here's where I'm at right now:

-researching and learning as much as possible to build a comprehensive framework for thinking about the market.
-specifically learning about options.
-downloaded TOS to start getting a feel for how the platforms operate and do some paper trading.
-researching and comparing brokerages and platforms.

I'm really looking for the best ways to move forward, any advice is always welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read my intro, futures.io (formerly BMT) seems like a great resource and I hope to learn and contribute.

One of the best in the industry and only one ( Ninja also offers but with lot of limitations) offering the feature

to REPLAY a trading session from the past upto 3 years is a feature available at TOS called " ON DEMAND".

My recommendation will be to use ON DEMAND as much as possible. REPLAY the full session, exactly the way

it played out on that day and trade per your RULES and METHOD.

I have done about 20,000 trades and i still do on ON DEMAND session couple of times a month.

All these 20,000 trades were in futures and in only one product " WTI Crude Oil " futures and to this day i mainly

trade Crude Oil futures.

So select a product ( my recommendation is for crude oil futures) and practice the hell out of it.

Hello all,

I am brand new to trading. I have a very small account and am currently only trading long on stocks. I am interested in learning how to short and I am very interested in learning about options, although I am intimidated by them. I see so much information out there but I don't have much money to pay for all the training so I keep trying to pick it up here and there.

I have been actively trading only about a month. So far I am up around 2% but already have made many of the common mistakes. I have no problem cutting my losses. In fact, I err on the side of dumping a stock at the first sign of trouble. I am working on becoming more disciplined and honoring my stops.

Anyway, I'm glad I came across this site. It seems right up my alley. I am very interested in developing my own Thinkscripts but am also new to programming, especially programming something so technical.

Long story short, I have a LOT to learn

Hi,
I am sorry to hear that. I am also one blowing account regularly. Finally, I stopped doing it by using stop loss on my each trade. Always trade with stop loss and follow only one or two indicator. That should help you. Thanks.

Best,

Afnutrade

Hi everyone, I just joined the forum a few days ago. Someone recommended me to the site and I decided to become an elite member!

I've been trading Forex for about two-ish years now. When I started back in 2011, I had no idea what I was doing. I followed every stupid strategy that looked good without understanding it. I started with just trading the crosses of Stochastics. I took a lot of losses that way. Then I moved on to trading the crosses of the TDI indicator, which, I know for some works well. But, for me it was way too simplistic and I didn't like jumping into trades anymore when there is a cross. Then I moved onto another system that was simply based on "if all lights are red, go short and vice versa" and that didn't work out too well for me either.

Finally, I decided to educate myself and understand the basics. In that time I finally found a system that incorporates price action and all the basic fundamentals of trading. It is an amazing system. Now, I can finally say that I am working towards my goal and able to support myself and my family with just trading forex. I plan on leaving my full time job to dedicate that time to trading. The same friend that recommended me to joining this website also showed me Ninjatrader and Futures. I think Ninjatrader is an amazing piece of software, and eventually I plan on also trading futures as well. I see a lot of people on this forum trade futures.

Sorry for my rant, I hope this year we all make it a profitable one for ourselves and for those we love.

If you want to become a profitable trader, in my opinion, get away from stocks. Look into futures, at least. There are so many factors that influence a stocks price.

It wasn't worth it for me, and I am glad I found Forex.

Hi Mike et al. I'm a neophyte to actual trading, although I've been fascinated with financial markets and trading lore my whole life. I'm a corporate attorney (but please don't hold that against me) in my mid-40s, and I'm looking to learn as much as I can from others. Thanks for putting together this community --

I've never taken the time to introduce myself. I am 27 year old male from Austin, TX. I am married with two daughters. I am self-employed, I own a Web Design / Marketing firm that specializes in marketing for healthcare and hospitals. In my past I have raced motorcycles, played bass in a band here in Austin (had our song on the radio), I used to work manufacturing for Samsung creating DDR RAM chips.

In 2004/5 I paper traded the ES, I sat in a trade room watching some idiot blow his and everyones money. I traded for 5-6 months but never funded an account because the margins and commissions seemed crazy to me at the time.

In 2008/9 I bought Ford stock @ $1.80 a share, my reasoning was it was really cheap, they had billions in cash, and didn't take a bailout. In 2012 I sold it all at around $16. I used this to create my business, quit my day job. Summer of 2013 I started looking into emini trading again got a demo and started trying to make it happen!

I opened an account in August, blew it out by Oct/Nov. I have since went back to demo, studied BPA style of trading and worked very hard on myself. I am opening a new account here in the next week or so and will live trade the M6E. futures.io (formerly BMT) has really brought me and my trading the a new level.

Hi all,
I just joined this evening. I'm a futures trader for over ten years now. I've been through the whole route learning tons of useless stuff, always searching for the right combination of indicators, software, gurus, yada, yada, yada, trying to get an edge. Finally found it with Market Profile and Auction Market Theory. It's been an expensive education and I'm just about to go from paper back to real money after spending the last year+ paper trading and proving to myself I can actually make money now. You know the story, blow your account out a few times looking for the holy grail before the light finally clicks on. Got the mind set and a method that makes sense to me. Also looking for anyone that uses Neoticker. I absolutely love it for my charts. Nothing better out there imo. I stumbled on this site looking for info on the Zenfire debacle a while back. This place is great cuz there isn't any flaming going on. Outstanding!

Hi everyone,
I just want to say I have read about this forum several times. So I finally decided to check it out. So far seems great. I like to trade the Emini's most of the time. But I do trade Forex USD JPY every once in a while. I am fairly new in trading the Emini's but I do prefer that market. Use Price action. Did a fair amount of studying, ( still am ), Using Al Brooks books and course etc..

Hi guys,

after stumbling across this forum a few times over the last years, I have finally decided to join.

I am a 30 yo old guy from Germany, only trading the ES. I began trading six years ago, like most people, with the retail forex world which worked, to say it carefully, not too good During the years I came to futures trading and have sticked with es only, which has become my favorite instrument and I have watched it presumably thousands of hours already. My day begins witch checking market action overnight in the shower...so much for passion (or addiction )

I use mainly wyckoff principles and volume based indicators, value area and reading bars as well as correlation between indices. my trading style involves scaling into positions intraday, keeping initial risk at the same level, risking floating profits for bigger positions than I would have opened initially.

Looking forward to meeting some other people form Germany here as well!

Dear Big Mike,

I don't even know if this will get to you but thank you for your kindness in welcoming me in to your trading group. I have been going at it since the rooms of Hotcomm and I used to work with Ray when he had the idea of making a front end and that was exciting because, as you know, we are in the trenches and engineers CANNOT make great trading software-PERIOD. As mush as I should stay the hell away from anything that needs mechanical precision.

So I gave him all the things that were horribly wrong done with the best intentions. It was a long time ago and I am glad he finally found some consistency yet it's impossible to be on top of every techno advance out there. I enjoy trading EVERYTHING and ran rooms a long time ago but had to give that up because I just couldn't say no to people who were close to greeting it. Some people spent weekend night on the phone with me 20 years ago until it all clicked and I HAD to pass that on--Pay it Forward I guess.

I started a music website in 1995 and flew up to my old home in Seattle to get the 41st merchant server ever issued by Microsoft to do commerce on the internet. It was the wild , wild west and extremely exciting. About 7 of us busted down doors and pounded pavement to advertise on this new thing called the web.

If Sir Tim Berners-Lee would have never walked away from the "Super-Collider" in Cern Switzerland, who knows where we would be. I sold the merchant server to Billboard and kept a fraction of everything that was rung up and after the years it spent at Tower Records, well I never found it again to collect but it was the excitement I truly most enjoyed.

That is what trading does for me and as far as discipline...well I have the patience of a bipolar flea after 2 pots of coffee and I always made my money trading outside of the box. Trading with nothing but 2 blended indicators then only from price but I get too influenced by the TRIN and everything els that is moving I really prefer the silent slow progression of the indicator and I can tell exactly what the price is at any given moment and that is what I like about it.

Last summer a friend gave me a "tradency program" a couple days before I left om a family reunion. I kind of new what it was but I thought what the heck. At the time I was not familiar with the FOREX as well as the other products but all you had to do was turn it on- and thats it-come back in 4-5 hours and there is a huge pile of cash out of nowhere. That first night I turned it off and felt dirty and I gave the money to my nieces and nephews for their education but THAT is what WE are up against now.

I have been battling a few health problems from beating my body to a pulp when I was younger and it keeps me from maintaining any consistency on a daily basis to trade. Some days takes me 3 hours to finally get out of bed but I am alive and kicking and will be rebuilt shortly.

I LOVE YOUR DEDICATION AND SOMEHOW WHEN I WAS READING OVER THINGS I HEARD YOU SPEAKING WITH ANOTHER TRADER AND APPLAUD YOU FOR YOUR PROFESSIONAL ACUMEN YOU HAVE GATHERED OVER THE YEARS- ooopps- sorry for the caps and I'm not going back to type it over!! But your integration of trading skills as well as listening to the world and what might "possibly" happen on any given day, You are dedicated, generous from what I heard for well over an hour and tremendously curious which I find to be the most remarkable trait I could pinpoint in that time.

I have met allot of "pro-traders" over many years and the charlatan train of bozos never stops and to know you are out there made me tremendously happy. Been studying for awhile, thought I was ready to wrangle. Found out I wasn't after blowing out an account. Back to studying and was able to stumble on this forum via stocktwits. Thankful for the founder of this forum and all others offering up their advice here!

Hope to learn and earn at some point in the near future...

Hey Everybody,

What a great forum! Thanks for setting it up Mike, this is the first trading forum that's ever felt right to me. Really great info and community you've all built here.

I've been trading retail FX off and on since 2006 (I miss the carry trade!) as well as a few metals. No big blowups, but no big wins either. In the past when I considered the time I was spending trading to the return I was getting, it didn't seem too worth it, so I concentrated on my career and just put it all in index funds. Now that I've got a little more risk capital, I've been thinking of getting into the e-minis, and that's what led me here.

I'm a former network/tech nerd, but not particularly interested in automated systems or the like. Primarily I've been paper trading the ES, NQ, and ZN. Just scalping the early part of the session with one contract using candles and a couple EMAs. Usually take about 7 or 8 trades total on a good day. Been making some paper gains, (using the ThinkorSwim papermoney app) but I know that the fills I'm getting on paper won't translate too nicely. Looking forward to improving my trading and contributing to the community!

HI guys,

I am new to this website futures.io (formerly BMT). I started trading since Feb 2013, I lost a lot of money, which I keep saying to myself it's EDUCATIONAL tuition. But the problem i can't learn why I am keep losing money by listen to radio and watch TV ( jim cramer's show) most of my trade I bought and the next day or two i got slap down, and have to sell as lost. i am hoping from this forum i will learn more and how to trade. I used TD (think or Swim)
Thanks all in advance for the help.

Hello,
Been reading futures.io (formerly BMT) for a little while...great forum!
Have dabbled in options for few years & want to try futures.
Looking at few platforms, one of them being R Trader.
I need a server side order supporting platform.

The plan I have in mind is as under:
I plan to clear my position at the end of the day.
I have the following scenario:
Based on certain analysis, would like to do the following:
a] Long or short Emini S&P 500 (ES), Market on Open (MOO).
b] Setup a stop-loss for movement of certain points....example of this: MOO - 5 points (for long) OR MOO + 5 (for short).
c] If stop-loss not used, close with Market on Close (MOC).

This,
I plan to do on a daily basis. Can b) & c) follow automatically once a) is setup every night? (something like a server side actions as a default).

Basically I'm looking for server side orders.
What this means is that once a buy/sell order is placed MOO, a pair of
linked stop loss & MOC orders are sent to your servers.
These orders sit there until either one is hit, & as soon as one is hit, the other one is cancelled (OCO).

Appreciate if someone can provide some input.
Warm rgds.

New to web site and have been in markets since 2007.

I buy and hold equities that pay dividends in my IRA and only trade 10-30% of account total.
Only buy 50 shares of 1 company.

My cash account I trade ES and have been in the minus but majority of time it was going in my direction but get stopped out. I have watched many 30 and 50 point if not more moves in ES in my direction I bought or sold short.
My focus is on TPO Profiles and order flow for confidence to hold onto a trade. I trade the ES in my cash account so I do not have to deal with the accounting at end of year with equities and the ES has a lot of liquidity.

I have paid for stock picks in the past years and that never works out. When you do your own research and pick your own it seems to work.

If there is any discussions here on TPO's and order flow I would love to read up on it but I will not pay for someones proprietary software sorry no disrespect but I would be broke if I bought everyone's service.

Thank you,
Kevin

Hello Everybody!

I am new here to futures.io (formerly BMT) and fairly new to trading in the live markets. I have been doing research on the stock market since high school. I am now after a year and a half of college in the position to start trading in the live markets.

My focus has been on the s&p emini futures contract, trading through Think or Swim (I know a lot of people dont like it but it works for what I need right now charting wise)

I have been back testing and working out some flaws over the past few months and have a very good method with excellent back testing results, I just cant seem to completely get over the emotional hump which causes me to enter or exit a trade at a time I dont want to instead of just sticking to my method.

I am only trading one contract right now until I dial in my method and trying to limit my loss to 500$ which I have touched a few times and ran back close to positive, to just fall back again.

I have already found a few sub forums that I can tell I will be spending a good chunk of time in and I thank everyone in advance for the help!

If you are trading thinkorswim look up verniman under mytrade in thinkshare and follow him.
He is good at ES levels with profiles and orderflow. On your DOM customize to show volume and trade count.
I use TPO profiles , macd, slow stochastics, moving average two lines on chart, Daily open, Linear regression 100.

If you follow shadowtrader you can set up breadthbubbles and valuearea pivots from his web site.

I have a nice set up but I am thinking of leaving TOS . I have locking up problems with software and leaning towards Ninja Trader.

Hello all,

I long to be a disciplined and profitable trader.

A couple months ago I graduated the College of Trader Development program at TopStep Trader. That was a great experience and I learned a lot of great information from my teachers Mike Arnold and Bob Iaccino. I had no previous experience in trading before I took the class and everyday I am learning how to become a better trader.

I know what my weaknesses are and I am working on them everyday. I am a sucker for aggressive emotional candles and getting in them too early, hoping they will go to target but then getting burned when the suddenly reverse on me. When I do wait and enter based on my strategy I get scared and usually exit too early.

I am working the most on sticking to my strategy and letting the process happen. I know it is an internal issue and I am working hard to change my behavior patterns.

I hope this forum can help me with the internal issues I am facing. I look forward to being a part of this community.

My name is Terry.

I live in the High Desert of New Mexico.

I am Self employed / 66 yrs. / Single / Live alone (except for Garbo, my Female, black,5 yr.old Standard Poodle)

Started trading Feb.2012 and I am a fairly active trader.

I trade a lot of OTC stocks & stay under $5-$6/share, for the most part.

I have a few stocks I am Long in, one of which I am VERY heavily invested in & I am up over over 300% on it (unrealized) over the last 2 yrs.- I have been Green in this stock every day since my first purchase of it 2 yrs.ago & expect it to move from OTCQB to AMEX this Yr.

Since I am self employed, some trading days I can be on computer during Mkt. Hrs.- other days not. Those days it is iPhone 5s access only.

I look forward in 'meeting' many of you in the Forums.

Hi everyone,

I've been trading for almost 25 years on and off. My main interest is options and volatility trading. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on training, mentoring, and books. None of those by themsleves have helped me hit it big. I'm still struggling but slowly getting better at avoiding the instant riches hype and putting in the work to develop my trading style.

Thanks Mike for the forum.

As many I also lost money for years. My turnaround started last year realizing the importance of not loosing and good money management. I did mainly futures so far and swing trading.

Hope to pick up how to do futures here.

Main platform is MC .... hoping to automate a little and be able to do the Mainland China market and CME .

Hi!

I am a beginner trader trying to learn to be a consistently profitable trader. Hopefully this would allow me to be financially independent. I have an account with Oanda and have learnt that I do not know enough to trade in a consistently profitable manner as I have had my account equity cut by more than 75% just by 2 trades on which I was to stubborn to take my losses.... So trying anew....

Hoping to meet and be able to talk to more successful traders here!

Cheers!

Hi all,
I am not new to trading, having entered into this some 10 yrs ago. I used to swing trade on the SPI200 but that burnt me after a while and i blew up my account. Same old story...been looking for a system that makes consistent profits but seem to get burnt purchasing systems that are totally useless and the only one making money are the sellers of these crap and useless systems.
I am a member now of CFRN and they are performing very well. Michael is a great guy and you see him trade live for 2 hours a day and can if you so wish mimic his trades (Futures - Gold, oil, Russell, Nat Gas, Soybeans and more) So he is very diverse and his method does not change with any market. I however have not made money as sometimes I choose not to take the same trades as Michael so it is my own undoing not that of CFRN. The thing Michael does is because he is actually educating you on a system he takes every trade that is thrown at him. The idea is that each of us make $100 on one contract a day and once account reaches different levels you simply increase contracts to improve the income generated. It is by far the only place I have been where you see it happen in front of you and nothing is hidden. He shows his DOM not all the time as screen real estate is limited but he does drag it back and forth to show you his entry and stops.
I just need to have more confidence to replicate his results.
I did look at DTS but feel this is a very expensive system and i am not sure if it performs as well as suggested so always looking for other systems to see what gels with me.

Interesting, I had heard of CFRN. But I thought they were just a radio show with general financial advice. I had no idea they had a daily day-trading room. And it seems updated videos and logs.

I have been trading for a while with a system i developed to beat the system lol. But one day i decided to show off. Guess what? it finally failed causing a huge draw down that took me 10 months to manage back to breakeven. I learned alot during the 10 month period. In fact i am a totally different trader. Trading is all in our head 100 percent of it. Master yourself to Master the world not just trading. The ancient words KNOW THY SELF. and you will find all the answers. I love Trading and i hope i can trade until the AI takes over and we go flat. Peace Love to all my fellow traders even if you are on the other side of my trades i still Love you! By the way anyone use occulous(VR Headset) for trading yet? I finally found a Trading site that i like!!! Thanks Guys very good information from all of you. Keep on Trading.

Hi Big Mike and family,
New to the site and complete newbie in trading. I am an entrepreneur with a successful IT business. I have money, time and patience, and am looking to learn how to create another revenue stream. I have know idea on how to trade, but am a very fast learner and willing to take risks and make mistakes as long as I learn from them. I am also willing to pay for knowledge.

My ultimate goal would be to learn what I am doing so I could make $100-$1000 dollars a day trading. I am curious how much capital I would need to start with and then what the process would be. I have 50k (access to more) to start trading, but don't plan to do so until I feel like I have a sense of what I am doing.

did I mention I was new?

-david

Hey guys,

I've stumbled upon futures.io (formerly BMT) after a night of googling for the perfect indicator and have been incredibly impressed ever since.
Currently reading through Big Mike's day trading method and advice in the psychology section and I've been struck with awe more than once at how close it hits to home.
Definitely will stick here and try to be active on the forums.

Anyway, a short introduction:
I'm a 28 year old trader-to-be, currently working in the oil and gas industry.
I've had some success with indices and some commodities, but they don't even come close to outweighing the bad trades I took haha.
Here's to learning as much as I can on the forums.

Best regards,
Rene.

I'm interested in learning to trade futures. Are you interested in learning about options by any chance?

Hello to everyone at futures.io (formerly BMT),
I'm based in the UK and i'm trying to get enough knowledge and
experience in order to be a proficient trader. I started approx. 2yrs and 8 months ago and
i figure i'm still on the foothills. Last year i had 6 months when i made a profit and the other
6 months were losers. I've been slowly ditching all the indicators, and, at the moment i've
only got a 13 exponential High, 13 Exponential Low, on a 4 Hour chart, and i'm developing
an Inside Bar Strategy. I also use Fib Extensions on the 13 Expo. Tunnel to give potential
exit point.
From a quick look around this site looks like the real deal and i hope i can benefit,
and be able to benefit others in years to come.
Many thanks,
Mtoto

Hey everyone,

I'm a recent college graduate and have been trading equities off and on for several years. Like most, I've been paying my tuition and learning from my mistakes along the way. I was originally brought to this site by an interview that Mike did with Dr. Gary Dayton regarding the Wyckoff method.

Looking forward to contributing to futures.io (formerly BMT)!

Hello to Everyone!

I discovered this site 1350 days ago, I am reminded that I have not contributed to the forum since. Like most new traders, I was busy trying to learn the market and the different instruments used to gain advantage in making profit. I enjoy making a few change here and their, but I always asked myself if the market is somehow rigged. Then, the subject of electronic trading and high speed computers are being discussed. Then, the inequality of orders being filled are being questioned but nobody knew how to correct it. Here comes a segment on 20/20 which aired on March 30,2014. They discussed how the big Guns of Wall Street are behind this trading style that created an advantage in there favor at the expense of all participants in the marketplace. Transparency is a word used by many, politicians and others who professed to be the good guy but it is a loose word. Wall Street, certainly does not abide to the tenet of being transparent if they continue to embrace this behavior. Something has to change so, small investors like me and others can participate in the market place where we trade equally.

Mr. Big Mike, I hope this meets the required introduction to move to the next segment of the forum. By all means, many thanks for this opportunity.

Aloha!!! Ktrader2 Thank you!

Hi,

I have been an active trader of the ES, NQ and 6E for the past 5 years.. My charting platform has been TOS and just downloaded Ninja7 via my broker. From the start I think I am going to really like Ninja and this community.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to participate.

preference to auto/systems trading for scalability and slightly less emotional factors

Hi all,

Been skirting about this forum for about a week, minimal trading as I'm looking into (another broker, data, platform (NT) etc....) trading futures(!) having been just spot forex for the last few years. Great forum and information, everyone seems ready to help and there's great interaction.

Looked at all sorts of 'stuff' but initial thoughts are;

1) Platform NT
2) Data - IQFeed
3) Broker - RJ O'Brien
4)OFA for additional entry criteria...

Interested in any thoughts/feedback....

Back now to the forex dungeon!

Hello everyone, I am Colin, a teacher and I have know that there must be a better way to make a living other than working for someone else and to me one of these ways is trading for a living. I have tried come paid sites and have been left utterly disappointed, hence the reason I am wary about paying large sums of money for indicators and the like. I am interested in taking responsibility for my learning and trading and so today begins a new chapter in my life.

Am a long time FX and commodities private investor. I have been a bit of a "lone wolf" for the past 15 years or so, since I started private investing following a 5 year stint before that on the FX Spot dealing desk of a major British bank. So after 20 years in the markets, I stumbled on this forum a week or so ago!

For those who care to know, I use a pure technical model, hence the attraction (to me) of this community since it looks like there are a lot of like-minded folks on here. I focus on Cable, JPY crosses and Gold, mainly, although I'm trying to construct a model for 10y and 30y Treasuries as well. Basically a trend-following strategy.

Hello Mike and other traders,

I have just joined this forum. I came across it while searching for a review of Nexgen T3 software. I have been trading for around 3/4 years now, I started with forex and have looked a little into futures. I've attended a few workshops, bought different systems, lots some money with PFG brokers etc. I'm starting ti realise that the only way to succeed is to deal read a chart well and follow a plan that has a positive expectancy. I'm still trying but not making much money. I feel that most people make money through education and selling the "holy grail" of systems.

I hope that joining this forum will help me and others succeed in this business. I would love to be free from my J.O.B one day soon. I have a full Ninjatrader license and use IB at the moment. I'm going to fund an account with AMP soon so that I can start trading futures. Although I see that they have filed a law suite against this website. Any other brokers people can recommend?

Anyway, that's all for now. Now I'll just start having a look around the site and hopefully get involved in some good threads.
Cheers
Robert

Hi everyone,
My name is Derrick, I have been into trading for 3-4 years off and on im a rookie by all means and inexperienced. Most of my time has been devoted to reading and understanding myself and the rules that I need to follow. Im at the point again finally after one previous account blowout to start a funded account again. I have my entries and exits in order this time and the way I wanna trade. This site has been a blessing just in the info one can gather from months and months of reading and I just wanted to say hi and ty!

Hello everyone!

I am a 29 year old Chinese man from Singapore who has recently decided to take up trading as I have decided recently that I want to get rich on my own effort and not live on my trust fund forever. At the moment, I have 8000 SGD in my bank account and my goal is to work to accumulate about 50,000 to 100,000 SGD in my bank account before starting to learn how to trade. My dream is to make alot alot of money and stay rich through day-trading the stock markets and possibly build and own my own day-trading firm in the future, and eventually write and teach how to trade. I have day-traded only a few times in the past and can be considered close to a total newbie --- This is a lifelong pursuit that I am committed to excel in.

One question for a start :

1) Does anyone know how I can upload a picture onto the site? When I uploaded my photo from my computer, it gave a fail message.

Thanks alot !!!

Cai GengYang

Ah nvm, I got it .... the photo is showing up on the profile picture. Anyway, I intend to be on these forums forever and will be updating my money-making progress through work and trading in the form of a journal for everyone to see.

Steps I am taking :

1) To accumulate 50,000 - 100,000 dollars SGD starting with 8,000 SGD in my bank account
2) Once I have that amount of money, start to paper-trade for a few months.
3) Once I am confident enough , start to trade conservatively and preserve capital (following Warren Buffett's rule --- Rule Number 1 : Never Lose Money, Rule Number 2 : Never Forget Rule Number 1
4) Compounding , Compounding all the way to Heaven (if there is one) !!!

Thank you and see you guys and gals around !

Hello and welcome to futures.io (formerly BMT) !

As far as I know you'll need to get an Elite Membership in order to have an Avatar in your profile.

Sweet ... Guess I wont be signing up for elite membership for the time being until I gather the required amount of money to start trading. About 50,000 SGD --- 100,000 SGD should be enough I guess
