TOS % Gain Indicator

I was wondering if any one has a study that shows your P/L as a % gain basis. I have my $ P/L hidden but I would like to be able to view my % gain on the stock in real time as my strategy is based off of % gains or at least when I am looking to sell a portion of my position.

The formula to do so isnt bad from how I am looking at it.

X = Current Price - My Cost Avg

P/L % = (X / My Cost Avg) *100.

That should give me a rolling % P/L.

Im just not that familiar with TOS think script as far as plotting the data goes. I would prefer it to be just a small little bubble in the corner of the chart some where if Possible.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a simple Thinkscript that will display what you want in a lower panel. IF you simply want the label on the primary chart window, remove the declare instruction, but be sure to update the settings to not show the plot so it doesn't impact your timeframe chart scale.

plot MyPLPct = (close - GetAveragePrice()) / GetAveragePrice();
AddLabel(show,"P/L: " + AsPercent(MyPLPct));
