There is a study in TOS called "Comparison" which basically allows you to plot a chart of another security below the chart I am currently viewing. I usually use the SPX as my default comparison chart. My question is would it be possible to add an 8 bar exponential moving average to the Comparison chart? If so can you please supply the script? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Try this:

Code
declare upper;

input comparisonStyle = {"BAR", "CANDLE", default "LINE"};
input secondarySecurity = "";

def price1 = close;
def length1 = 8;
def displace1 = 0;
input averageType1 = AverageType.EXPONENTIAL;

plot MA1 = MovingAverage(averageType1, price1[-displace1], length1);
    MA1.SetDefaultColor(Color.CYAN);
    MA1.SetLineWeight(2);
    MA1.SetStyle(Curve.FIRM);
    MA1.DefineColor("Up", Color.GREEN);
    MA1.DefineColor("Down", Color.RED);
    MA1.AssignValueColor(if MA1 > MA1[1] then MA1.color("Up") else MA1.color("Down"));

Hope this helps...

Good Luck and Good Trading

I really appreciate you taking the time to help me but that code seems to just draw a moving average on the top chart. What I was looking for is to place the moving average onto the comparison chart.
I enclosed an example... The chart on top is a daily QQQ chart with an 8 EMA. The chart below with the grey bars is a daily SPY chart. How do I get an 8 ema on the SPY chart. Thank you for your help.

Hello again,

After trying a couple of things, I believe you can't plot a moving average on a Comparison chart, but I would call Tech Support to confirm this...
