Please do your own due diligence

Volume Profile (as of this writing) DOES NOT work appropriately (/ES, /6E)

For example (esp in fast markets)

3086 is trading

three or four nodes above and below will be adding volume

or three above, none below

vice versa

etc etc

No offence, but the example you gave suggests you don't have the first clue about even the most basic concepts of volume profile so it's hardly surprising you are having problems with it. Admittedly, Volume profile is not for the novice. It's for the trader who has moved on from worthless retail indicators.

I think he is saying it doesn't work in ThinkOrSwim, since this thread is for ThinkOrSwim.

I guess I did not do a very good job of explaining myself

Yes in thinkorswim

During volatility pull up either tick size 1 or custom .0001 and it *should* be obvious

Esp so fo the above settings on a 15m chart /6E

It is easiest to see with profile set to *on expansion, day* (as opposed to chart)

Then highlight (zoom in) so you can see the actual values of the node

For now I can't show a clear/ clean image/ chart - market is at a stand still

EDIT

For example 3100 3101 is trading

nodes 3106, 3105, 3104, 3103 are adding volume

As is 3102, 3101 and 3100

EDIT2

3109 and 3108 have the same volume (806)

3105 and 3104 have the same volume (1914)

During volatile moves there will be 10 nodes trading equal volume in pairs of two sets of three etc

here's a pic showing what i'm talking about

/6E one hour chart (does not matter what time frame) with one tick size nodes

this is after the drop from 0400am est this morning

Reported on this back in DEC

Still screwed up

Another example: custom settings .0002

At least 5 nodes adding volume simultaneously

TOS does not have true tick data

They receive there data in "blocks"
