Today's Market is different. If you had traded the algo signals on the ES, using your brain absolutely none ...playing a lot of golf instead of sweating it out at the computer ...I've attached what a $50,000 account would have gained - position sizing by the Kelly method (8 contracts) entering the only valid signal on the attached chart.

I post this only to promote an awareness of what we're up against. This is retrospective - thus of little value. Still, it raises the issue of how much faith one should put into industriously trying to program Wyckoff-oriented signals into a 2010 computer-traded Market - the bots vs Richard Wyckoff and ThinkScript. Food for thought.

My last post.

Steve

I was wondering if anybody knew how to draw only the high, low, close in TOS. I checked with TOS and you can't do it natively. I'm not really a coder so I'm not sure if it would be possible with thinkscript. I'm asking this question here first because I know Tradeguider folks tend to use high low close for their VSA analaysis.

Thanks, Alan

Snow,

Sorry it's taken me a bit to reply. Have been focused on understanding the Market's current trading range. I want to share one image. It's a screen-shot of algo-based software I lease (on the left) vs TradeGuider (the real VSA) on the right. (I own TradeGuider.)

...

Steve

did you watch presentation on Monday of tradeguider's signals and Rob Hoffman's signals, strange that his signal fades TG signal most of the time.

Hello!
At once I am sorry for errors. I translate messages by means of the electronic translator.
Me method VSA interests. But in Russian it is not enough literature. Therefore very much I wait for closing-up over the indicator for TOS.
In the Internet has found the information from section «technical analysis Indicators» to
To program Tradeguider. Can you with it are already familiar. But if not are familiar I will it is glad, if it helps you with an indicator writing. The archive also contains a translation into Russian, I did not begin to clean it.

Steve,

Nice charts from AlgoTrader and TradeGuider. I see they have lots of signals and labels on them like the VPA indicator. Possibly, the VPA indicator could have switches to turn the signals and labels on or off. Or as snowcloud mentioned they could have sensitivity levels that can be adjusted for user preferences. I'd like to see the code for the sensitivity settings.

Also do the AlgoTrader and TradeGuider platforms provide buy and sell signals? If they do, how successful can a trader be in just using them? Does AlgoTrader use the VSA concept that we're discussing?

I have a suggestion, Could you guys in AssignPriceColor use color.CURRENT instead of GetColor(7)? Reason is that in original verson, even if I set "color bars" input to false, I get a warning icon saying that this study tries to interfere with other studies that utilize price bars coloring functionality.

Thanks!

Makes sense - I'll make the change in the next release. I'm assuming that you already made the change in the version that you're running.
