On the thinkorswim platform application, under "Setup", change the Quote Speed to "Real Time - no delay". The Active Trader for the most part moves alright, but when the market gets fast it does get jumpy, application runs smoothly though as long as I don't have too many charts and indicators. I use limit orders, for buying and selling market I guess it depends on how fast the underlying is moving and the liquidity.

THanks for the input, that really made everything move much faster and I see why you use limit orders for buy in now. I will say my paper trading at the old setting was doing pretty good, so now wondering how my realtime will be. thanks again for your input

THey did leave me a bit confused when you use the software it told me 3rd qaurter but on the phone I can setup and use now, so Im transfering accounts as we speak. I have to say the charting is so so much better than etrade. I have been playing with the paper trade mode and mostly using the buy and sell market could you comment on what your slippage you have with TOS? I also noticed sometimes like a freeze or delay on mosty the YM , is this normal , compairing to my clock on computor. THanks
ps I have a 3mbit connection

I always use market orders on CL, GC, ES, and all of the currencies.
The slippage for me is almost always 1 tick, sometimes none depending
if price is on the bid or ask and I'm buying or selling.

If I play news events or more volatile times I have noticed more slippage especially with CL.
When I'm trading the 2hr chart, this is really not an issue to me.

I have noticed the clock freezing and that's your internet connection (at least it is for me), not TOS.

Yes, doesn't seem any worse slippage than other feeds. I also have Mirus zenfire on Ninjatrader and I still get 1-2 ticks slippage on CL more than occasionally. Sometimes even more.

Not sure if I'm in the right area and sorry if I'm not. I am thinking about changing from trade to ToS brokerage and was wondering since so many of indicators are wrote for NT is there a way to convert NT to Tos charts? Thanks for any help

Here is another idea. You can setup TDA/TOS data connection for minute data (no tick data from TOS) in Ninjatrader. You can watch the charts on Ninja with all your indicators and trade in TOS.
