Maybe, but why on earth would I do this. Replace monitors in order to get a video card which I am looking to only spend less than $100 on. Makes no sense.
These adapters with passive cooling should be capable of feeding 4 DVI monitors:
(1) A pair of nVidia NVS 295 cards (each of them supports two monitors up to 2560 x 1600) With a pair you can connect 4 DVI monitors via DisplayPort to DVI-D adapters.
That's what came in my Dell T3500 ex works. They drive 4x Philips 19" LCDs. Over the past 3 years I had to replace one of the monitors but otherwise no issues.
FWIW there is a NVS 300 available now, so the '295s are a steal as you found out.
Yup - ebay. Pulls. But not expecting any issues. Can't go wrong for less than $40 per card shipped. I am hoping these will quiet down my case a little.
Got one of the cards today. It was the $16 one plus $4.99 shipping. It is missing the two displayport -> dvi cable dongles. I went back and read description, it doesn't say they are included so my bad. So, ordered two dongles at 4.99/ea shipped ($10 total) delaying me a few days. The other card definitely has the dongles in it and should be here tomorrow or next day.
