Hello Neil,

Ah, so it is possible to use two Matrox together and they will handle up to 6 monitors then?
( Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital SE | Multi-Monitors for Laptops)

I thought it was not possible to hook up more then one...

Btw, Encore adpater is very buggy... I has restarted my computer a couple of times and a mess to install, but not it works OK, but it happens time to time it get disconnected and I have to restart the computer.. I hope the Matrox is works better...

Thanks!

This from within the Matrox web site if it helps.

Connect multiple DualHead2Go or TripleHead2Go Graphics eXpansion Modules - Graphics eXpansion Module

Downloading the "GXM System Tool" and "Run" for each of the combinations will tell you if your pc is compatible:

Matrox Graphics - Support - GXM System Compatibility Tool

Dell intros color-accurate U2413, U2713H and U3014 displays (updated)

Quoting
Dell's UltraSharp displays still have a certain cachet among sticklers for quality, most of all at the high end -- so today's release of three advanced models might as well be a bonanza. The 24-inch U2413, 27-inch U2713H and 30-inch U3014 (above) once more center on PremierColor and the visual accuracy to match. Even the two smaller displays have a 12-bit processor that helps their LCDs reach 99 percent of the Adobe RGB color space and all of the sRGB space, or enough of the spectrum to eliminate most rude surprises with photo work. What else is new? Dell hasn't divulged full details of the screens themselves, but there's now a single-display arm and a dual-display stand to get just the right placement. Like what you see -- or rather, what you will see? The U2413 and U2713H should be available now for $599 and $999 alongside the $149 arm and $169 stand, while the range-topping U3014 is due "soon" for $1,499.

Update: We reached out to Dell for more details, and the updates are substantial -- all three displays bump up to a 2-million-to-1 dynamic contrast ratio, an increase in Adobe RGB color gamut coverage (up from 96 percent), a more adjustable height and support for DisplayPort daisy chaining. The two larger screens also add Mini DisplayPort.

dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I got this from a Google Group of traders I follow. I thought the setup was pretty impressive. Here are the details to do it yourself too if you like.

If you look at the vid at minute 1:34 the new NEC 29'' Monitor could be used with pivot function. Hilarios.

Keep an eye for these video cards in the US, I've got one and they're recommending them for multi screen business use...

Hi everyone, I am running a NVS 295 and NVS 290; when the mouse goes to the monitors connected to the 290 the mouse moves slower, kind of like it is moving through mud. I have no idea what this could be, does anyone else have a problem like this or know of a solution?

My computer is fast, i5 2500, 8GB Ram, I may upgrade to 16 but I don't think that would be the issue here.

I appreciate any help.

The Drivers were fine as well as the MOBO and I was very frustrated and was about to buy a much more expensive card, I had unplugged them and re-plugged them as Arnie recommended

arnie View Post
That's strange since the drivers are the same. Do you have the latest drivers?
Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect the cards? Did you try connect the 290 in the 295 slot and the 290 in the 295 slot? Did you try only with one card at a time to see if that slowness is showed? Did you try changing the cables?

That sounds like driver issues but...

Until I tried one more time to uninstall and re install and everything works perfectly now, I have the number of monitors I need and all is well, so I just wanted to say thank you to the futures.io (formerly BMT) forum, Arnie, and Mike.

I can't remember what thread I last posted in. Apparently not this one.

But point is, a few weeks ago I replaced my (2) FirePro 2460's with (1) FirePro W600. I have six 24" monitors. I replaced the cards because I was experiencing some random issues with the FirePro 2460's, like random times monitors won't come back on after energy savings poweroff mode, or random screen artifacts.

Well, unfortunately the W600 exhibits identical issues.

It's my belief that the random screen artifacts are caused by poor drivers. It's essentially the same driver between the 2460 and W600, and testing in a 3x3 (6 monitor) config is probably very rarely done with no real quality assurance. In other words, since practically no one runs this config, they've not seen the issue and haven't had a chance to fix it. Bottom line: live with it.

As for the random times a monitor won't awake after being in sleep mode, well that's the most annoying. My PC never enters sleep mode but I do have W7 setup to power down the monitors after 30 minutes. Even with these six Dell U2412M LED's, relatively low power as they are, they put off a lot of heat -- so it's more about keeping my office cool than it is about electricity savings. The real kicker is that when one of them fails to wake up, it royally screws all my window locations for all open apps because Windows has to reconfigure itself to be minus 1 monitor. I scream every time this happens.

I am leaning towards this NOT being a driver issue, my best guess is it is a cable issue. I am pushing the limits on cabling, using 15 foot cables for all six monitors, and they are all crammed on top of each other along with some other noisy cables like USB and speaker cables, and go through a cut out in my wall to the extra bedroom adjacent to my office where I have my computer hardware in a closet. In other words, I think it might be a noise issue, with the "wake up" command simply not making it to the monitor. Odd enough, it seems to always happen to the same monitor, but if I move the cable around, it doesn't follow the cable -- but the monitor... is just a bit weird.

Anyway, this is what the kids would call "first world problems", in other words, just get over it.

I'll be listing my two FirePro 2460's on ebay soon probably.

Mike

Maybe a faulty monitor? What happens if you just run with 3 (also eliminate each card,) 4 or 5 for a while?

I have also had this sleep fail to wake up issue in the past, in one case it was an old cable (missing connected pins) and in the other a hard to see bent pin, but sounds more like a faulty monitor although your cable length is certainly extreme.

(Fyi I run an ATI FireMV 2250 just under the standard W7 Microsoft WDDM driver, mixed with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 420, never a glitch.)
