Here are the four Dell U2412M's hooked up.

I've ordered a fifth, to be here early next week. I got a price of $279 on the 5th!! I am currently trying to negotiate down my previous order from last week @ 309, down to 279, but not sure that is possible.

Yes, it is quite large It is a studio grade microphone and works pretty well. I really don't care for headsets.

As for an idea to its size, check out the attachment (not my photo, but illustrates it well)

They look custom made for your desk.

Thanks BigMike.
Your saving me from a zillion hours jumping around the internet deciding on a monitor setup upgrade.
So cool there's no need for stands.

...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

This was my recent effort. Just finished over a week ago.

In this case, the hardware was steel, plasterboard, flooring, teak wood, nails and paint.... and a new PC.

New PC is an i7 home build (not by me) in a discreet aluminium Lian Li case. It's not overclocked but it's got an i7, 8gb RAM, 2 x 1 terabyte HDDs and a fan that's as big as my laptop. I have 4 screens now but could go up to 6, although I doubt I'll need it.

The wireless keyboard & mouse are a little silly for trading with but it really helps to keep things clean.

Falcon makes great systems, but you are paying an enormous premium for their name. You can save a lot of money buy looking at companies like iBuyPower and CyberPower.

They probably won't have a configuration option to support 6 monitors out of the box, but your best bet is to just buy a Radeon HD 5870 (this is what I have, and what the config in post #1 has) on ebay. That card will handle 6 displayport monitors and is not too pricey.

If you aren't doing backtesting, then any i7 will be plenty. The i7-2600k is the best bang for the buck right now. Honestly, even any i5 would be totally fine for any trading PC and save you a little money. The extra CPU power from overclocking or the newer extreme chips are more or less a complete waste for any normal PC or any normal trading system. In fact, overclocking is a big no-no for a trading computer in general due to stability issues. A trading system is not a gaming system, which is the primary market Falcon markets to.

Memory is dirt cheap, so 12GB or 16GB is hard to pass up. But really 8GB is enough for all but the most demanding typical consumers.

SSD drive -- well, sure, it can help. But always have a second drive you are backing up your system to on a daily or weekly basis, a 1TB or 2TB drive is dirt cheap these days ($50-$100).

Just real quick, built a system on cyberpowerpc:

This is using an i7-2600k, 120GB Vertex 3 SSD plus a 1TB backup drive, 16GB memory, a Corsair PSU, good mainboard and case, and Windows 7 x64 Professional. The rest of the components are just typical cheap stuff, so you will still need to buy the Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity off ebay, and you probably want to get a nicer keyboard and mouse.

But the total was $1429. And they have a 3-year warranty.
