Hi guys!Is any one know if vga splitter gonna work the same as vga/usb adapter???
@ steve2222-i try to connect another 2 monitors with 4 way vga splitter i may do so but with usb/vga adapter ----well unless i have them 2.....What`s the better way guys /

I don't know all the ways, but what was recommended to me for trading was the following:
I have a laptop with a VGA output (It is a one year old laptop so has a 15 inch screen, plenty of RAM etc). To add further screens ( I have 2 x Dell 22inch monitors) it was suggested I purchase a Matrox Dual Head to Go device.
This is a physical piece of hardware that is powerd by your USB outlet and the video is fed from the laptop VGA output.
This device (and it's associated s/w) allows you to extend your desktop across all three screens, so I have one Ninja Trader workspace open with the charts, DOM, T&S etc etc spread across three screens. In fact most times my wrokspace is projecting charts for 3 instruments at a time.
You can also get a tripple device which will allow for 3x additional screens.
Of course if you have a desktop PC, then installing video cards that support more than one monitor is the way to go.
PS: Matrox also have DVI versions if your computer outputs this format and your monitors are DVI compatiable.

an easy alternative for multiple monitors on a notebook without compromising display resolution is to use an external USB video card.
this permits you to use your onboard VGA output for an external monitor, and then use one or more USB adapters to drive additional monitors at full resolution.
Obviously, a USB driven graphics card is not going to be up to the standard of a full spec gamer card, but if you dont need high speed 3D graphics, for trading its a perfectly acceptable solution for multiple screens.
At the moment I am looking for a graphic card to connect with more than 2 monitors. I do not have much ideas about related technical issues, but I think on the one hand, that it is not necessary to have the latest technique for showing quote windows, but on the other, I would try to avoid to split one signal to 2 or more monitors.
Possible it should work, but I don`t know how to measure that, so possibly I am losing performance which I want to avoid.
So my idea is a graphic card for more than one monitor. MThe card which came with my PC in 2008 was ATI Radeon HD 3850, I can connect it with 2 monitors and it works fine.

Next month a new graphic card will be available with the possibility to connect up to 4 monitors:Sapphire HD 5770 FleX. THe price should be lower than 200 Euro.

These two cards are more for gamers than traders. You'll have a lot of (unneeded) horse-power for 3D display, but it's going to be very noisy, and expensive.
Why not few hd4350 atiPCI, or any other fanless/dual-screen PCI card (PCI, not PCIe) ?
Cheaper than a big top-notch gamers card, and you may have enough PCI slot available in your machine.
thats what I mean: I do not have much understanding in technical issues. I also think that these are gamers cards, so Iam sure that they are "overweighted". But, as far as I understand, the 4350 only has connections for 2 monitors!? I am using 3850 and want to connect my PC with 4 monitors instead of 2 as it is now.
Actually is it not sooo easy to find something for my mainboard so I finally had the idea with the 2 mentioned graphic cards.

and I also think that I have to take care of the slots of the mainboard. I think there is one free PCIe slot on the mainboard, but I cannot simply add another card I think, if yes I think it must be able to support corssfire mode *hmpff*
I use 3 x USB2 to vga/dvi/hdmi devices to control 3 x 23 Dell LCD displays iwth USB and HDMI powered from a Dell Dual Core Laptop for my trading setup.
The ones I use unlike others get a higher Max res Pixels to 2048x1152 which my particular monitors support.
The pic looks much like all the other USB ones out there on the market, but these ones are higher resolution and also cater for HDMI too and ball park cost is about $50US there abouts. I actually got mine and dealt with company directly from Hong Kong, as they usually only sell to retailers.
On that same site, they also have a network version of these too which I will add to my collection someday, so I can use my 46" LCD added via network to my display link control panel (and UltraMon) and stream a bunch of indexes or bigger charts to it for referencing though I would not trade from that.
