It's a good point. I check upload/download speed regularly. I don't think Malwarebytes has much of an impact. I keep it on for the "just in case" scenario.

Getting off topic now but in reality your latency is probably more important than your upload and download speed. I use pingplotter for this. Old post here on nexusfi.com, and the software is even better than it was then but I think you'll get the picture

Interesting. Never heard of it. I'm downloading the free version - see what it finds. Hard to tell sometimes whether there's a latency issue or a trade just doesn't fill. No fill happens in bonds more often than other instruments but I don't think it's due to latency.
What do you do if you detect something in your system? How do you trace the source?

It will tell you where on the route your problem is. I have multiple Internet connections, and there are multiple broker gateways available to me, so by switching provider or gateway I can normally take an alternative route across the internet avoiding the troublesome node.

Thanks. Might turn out to be useful - at the very least, I might be able to detect if there's a connectivity problem when I don't get a fill.

I would also like to know what would make Ninja 8 faster at Market Replay Simulation. Is it a better graphics card or a CPU? How useful would it be to go beyond 4 cores that I currently have? Will extra cores be utilized? Can someone from Ninja answer this?

After speaking to support about my PC, they said that a good GPU is needed. 2 or more GB. NT8 uses the GPU for all the chart rendering.

Here... everything you need.

seattle.craigslist.org/see/sys/d/seattle-dell-t5500-workstation-computer/7015034923.

Ok... Now for the Caveat: I am only on sim. I don't know enough to tell you if there will be any difference in RT data. But I don't see a reason for it not to give the same performance.

If you want to be a serious trader you will have a dedicated computer for trading.

Fastest will not hurt you. Video card for 1-4 monitors should be considered.

So I bought a custom trading computer from EZ Trading Computers. Selected the package I wanted and they shipped it turn-key ready.

No regrets .

Great advice I will soon be following, as my old windows 7 is getting sidelined.
What parts would you advise to keep, if any? Can I just change the central unit?

Build your own system. You get exactly what you want for less than half the price. I've built several - the first one I built about 8 years ago is still chugging right along, no problems.

I don't use my trading computer for anything except trading unless I have to import something to the platform. I use Ninja and Jigsaw (not for placing orders - only to monitor order flow). I have no problem with rithmic pro or tradeovate for the props I'm with as well as my own account.

If you have too much crap on your computer - i.e. using it for browsing the internet, email, ordering from Amazon, etc you're going to have problems eventually. Dedicate one computer to your system, clean it up every week (delete files, data you don't need) and use a good malware program - I use Malwarebytes.

You can get all your components here: https://www.tigerdirect.com/ Their support is very good. Building it is not hard - there's plenty of resources on the internet. You'll save a lot of money by building it yourself. Plus you'll be that much more knowledgeable about the guts of a computer and how it works.

Get Windows 7 Professional. Do not get Windows 10. Tiger can still sell Windows 7 Prof - I think. You'll have to check with them.

Get a gaming case - the power pack is very heavy. I bought a computer trolley to move it around. It is a heavy unit when it's done.
