I use a product called APowersoft Screen Recorder which is free at first and then requires a very modest sign up. It is very easy to use; I use it all the time!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I use the built in Windows Gaming recorder: Win + G. However, I'm not sure you can set the time for recording or control it remotely (unless you have remote access software, then you could). Sounds like one of the other free options will be better.
Hi, I use a small download program called "Snagit" by Techsmith to record webinars. I can't remember exactly but I think it costs something like $50-$60 dollars for a lifetime licence including all updates. I am not very tech savvy but find it very simple to use, and has worked faultlessly for me so far. The same company provide a screen capture program called "Jing" which can be downloaded for free and is also very simple to operate, for us non-tech say folk. Hope this is of some help.
It allows for scheduled recordings and since the trading room ran London overnight session and into NY I was able to record 8-9 hours at pretty decent quality and the file size wasn't massive.
Scheduled recordings were great since I was asleep when London started (since I am on the west coast) and it was still recording when I woke up in the morning. All you need to do was choose the screen you wanted to record from. At the time I bought it, it was $99 US but it's a bit more now.
It was a good investment. It was also very easy to use.
