Very Nice.... but I don't think I will ever use a notebook / tablet with a fan anymore after my new experience with my HP 1020 G1 notebook. I believe these Surface tablets have a fan. Again, just a personal choice as I enjoy quietness more than anything. I hope they work more and more on the core M platform to improve battery and performance, I think is about time to have computers with no moving parts.

I barely use my i7 notebook because of heat / noise, although it's super fast... I'm glad there are options for everybody though...

must be some luck, I have never come across a laptop with fan noise.

The Surface Book also got my attention... Please let us know once you get it

Sent from my phone

I just checked and mine still has not shipped.
However, it is still showing Oct 26 as the date.

I'm glad I ordered mine immediately after the MSFT announcement.
(1st hour after).
I noticed all of the models of the Surface Book are apparently sold out on the MSFT Store site.
I did see some other sites say they are still taking preorders.
(Frys, Amazon, etc)

I'll report back as soon as it arrives.
Should I make a video?
(unboxing etc or is that just lame)

My Surface Book arrived on time last Monday as promised.
I have been very busy and have not been able to spend much time testing it.

However, it is VERY nice.
I like the pen. Even though I did not like that feature on my Surface Pro.
The new pen is very responsive and easy to use.

The touch pad is a little quirky (it seems to touch things I don't touch).
I'm used to a touch pad that is very responsive and sensitive but not false touching.
This one seems to need a software/firmware upgrade.
Of course, it may just be me but it is very different from what I am accustomed to .

The screen is very sharp and the speed is faster than my Sony with an I7
(This is an I7 with 512 SSD and 16gb ram.)

I also have a dock accessory and have not been able to get mine to accept a second monitor.
It seems to recognize the monitor but will not display on it when plugged into the dock.
The same monitor plugged directly into the Surface Book works fine but not through the dock.

I like the ability to remove the screen and to turn it around etc.
I did not think I would like the ability to reverse the screen but it works well and seems like a good way to keep the keyboard with me even when I don't need it.

I created a new partition on the drive so I can keep my data separate from the OS partition.
I will be adding a 256gb SD card for extra storage of audiobooks and/or graphics.
The standard SD card will fit but sticks out further than I like so I have ordered a half-size adapter to house the microSD card and allow it to be flush mounted.

I've been trying to get used to MS Edge but I still prefer Chrome.
Edge seems less stable but maybe it is just my bias.

Hopefully I will get my 500+GB of data and programs moved to this machine this week and can get more familiar with it.
