Here are the speeds I get on my desktop.

Not too worried about the ping times. I am not doing anything that would remotely need super fast ping time. It's not noticeable to me.

Wow! I could only get that speed in our local library.

I wonder what is the ping speed to the ninjatrader server from your desktop?

Impressive...

234 , 653, 931........holy cow.......are these fiber connections?

Or, are you just paying 150, 200 dollars a month ?

Or, are you getting these at work ?

I get 5-10 MB . I could get more, perhaps 25-100; but I save a little bit with a slower connection.

If I played video games online or downloaded a lot of movies, it would be worth it but otherwise, this is sufficient.

What I find irritating is that even if you pay for 50MB, you never get 50, you might get 25,30, 35......the only time you get 50 is at 4AM in the morning.

I think I pay 39 for 10MB ....... I need to shop around.

I haven't bothered to upgrade or research it for about 6, 7 years.

Either you mis-read the results or you must be being sarcastic. That's kbps, not mbps. When I signed up for Hughesnet, the deal was for 20gig really fast and unlimited, but slower after that was used up. 3 phone calls of talk with their CSRs all of them represented that out of plan, unlimited data speeds were "typically" 1-3 meg. Their website says the same. I can survive with 1-3 meg, so I signed up. I have NEVER gotten close to 1-3 meg when I ran out of plan data. The above results are typical for me. Sometimes I can't even get into my bank account or credit card accounts because the handshake can't be established. Clearly, the 1-3 meg promise was the bait in HughesNet's bait and switch. So, anybody thinking about getting HughesNet satellite internet service, just keep in mind that they are liars and cheaters.
